    Identify these grips

I guess I'm not that great of detective. I should have looked at the serial number on the grips. Anyway, the gun is C 169XXX and the grips are 588XXX. Experts please chime in.

    Identify these grips

DWalt, Turnbull restored a Fox SxS 20 ga for a friend of mine that looks like it was just made in 1930. I just assumed he would do anything vintage. I know he is pricey but for the quality of work and turn around time, I thought he would be the way to go. Not liking the nearly 2 year wait from...

    Identify these grips

Interesting thread. I believe my pre 10 dates to 1952. I just have a hard time believing those are original. I posted a thread a couple years ago when I bought this gun. I had numerous PM's from members here wanting to buy these grips. One guy offered me $400. Despite being just a blue collar...

    Identify these grips

I bought this pre 10 for the grips which are not original to the gun. Well, I came across a couple Target Hand Ejectors from the 1920's with mirror bores that have serious cosmetic problems that I would like to send to Turnbull. Anyway, I'd like to utilize these grips. Can anyone tell me the...

Pre 10, 5" needs extractor pins.

I believe this to be early 50's. Serial number C228XXX. I have the 6" version with serial number C338XXX which does have the pins in the cylinder to line up with the holes in the extractor star.

Pre 10, 5" needs extractor pins.

Picked up this neat old 5" Pre 10 the other day with vintage Russel Uniform Company holster. Bluing is mostly there along with a touch of end shake. Bore and mechanics are beautiful, but I'm missing the two pins that line up the extractor. A search of the net only shows Numrich, but of course...

    Model 29-3 Silhouette price check.

This is the Silhouette with the 10 5/8" barrel. Well thanks guys....I'd like to get into this with no more than a thousand. I hate getting into something and find out a few years later that I can't dump it for what I paid. It doesn't happen very often, but I've had it happen on a couple of rifles.

    Model 29-3 Silhouette price check.

I came across the above mentioned revolver the other day with no box. It's very clean and looks like it has only seen a cylinder or two of ammo. The owner claims to have bought it new in 1988. It appears they are going on average for $1100. I don't need it but I would like to add it to my...

    686-3 with Millet rings.

How rare is this bird? The stocks and 8 3/8" barrel got me more excited than the scope mounting stuff. Although, I did get the Millet rings and a Leupold silver 2x scope in the deal. These are the first SB S&W stocks that actually fit my hand. Wish they made more of these.

    Browning Hi-Power questions.

Here's my latest acquisitions. A T from 1969 and a HP from 1981. By the way, Steve Camp's and Blake Stevens books are on the way.

    Browning Hi-Power questions.

Thanks much to Darkenfast, Texas Star, Federali, Max, and 6GUNSONLY. I don't have time tonight, but I'll post pics of my meager Hi-Power collection Saturday. So far, I have accumulated two T's. One from 1964 and a 1969 that appears unfired with black pouch and manual, a true Belgium from 1981...

    Browning Hi-Power questions.

I've been a Hi-Power fan for some time starting with my first one being a T serial number made in 1964. Its magazine has an aluminum follower with two posts (legs). Well, the other day I purchased a minty T made in 1969. It's follower is black plastic which looks identical to the plastic...

    686-3 with dovetails info needed

A friend of mine who is a gunsmith just took in on trade a 686-3 with 8 3/8" barrel with factory dovetails in the barrel for scope rings. I have not seen this revolver yet and I would like to make him an offer once I see it in person, but I'm coming up short on info. All I can come up with is...

    Another 32-20 Hand Ejector thread.

Thanks, that will hold me over until I get my letter from Mr. Jinks. This revolver is like new with no turn line. I have the original box as well but it's a little tattered being 80 some years old. Any ideas on an honest value? thanks again, BM

    Another 32-20 Hand Ejector thread.

Hello, I've collected S&W's for quite some time, but most of my S&W's are from the 1970's. I added this nice 32-20 the other day and it's the pride of the fleet. It's a 4th change with 126xxx serial number. Knowing they ended in 144684, I assumed mine was late 1930's but it doesn't mean a...

    Grashorn stocks.

Just got my first set of Grashorn stocks! I emailed Patrick and he sent me a half dozen pics of what he had in stock for square butt k-frame. I picked out the set I liked the best and asked him to remove and even out some bark. Then these arrived three days after he received my payment of $171...

Where to get a vintage S&W reblued?

After reading the above posts, I might just leave it alone. The majority of the guns I collect are immaculate. I have S&W's from the 50's through the 80's and all are show room original. I got into this pre 10 for $300 and thought I could make an old piece of history shine for a few hundred...
