    I have the 2nd gen M&P 15T. I believe it does have a chrome lined BCG, but you have to tear down the BCG to see the chrome lining. It does have a free floating barrel as well. Does the model # on the box match the one from the S&W website, 811041 for the current 15T? Edit, Oops, I missed...

    M&P-15T for $899

    Wow. I can't imagine it selling for more than MSRP. I was at a gun show in Hickory, NC last week where three or four dealers had them for $975 - $1,000.

    M&P-15T for $899

    This may have been the old model 15T with sku 811001, it has a suggested retail of $1709. I doubt GM would sell the newer 15T sku 811041 for more than it's suggested retail of $1159, unless it was a pricing mistake.

    Sport vs. Standard?

    Thanks for all the advice. It seems like the Sport or the 15T (if I can tolerate the price difference) would be best for me. I like the idea of the 15T adding the quad rail, and since it seems to have the same barrel should be just as accurate.

    I am a happy 15-22 PC owner, and am nearly ready to step up to the real thing. I am trying to decide if the cost of an M&P15 standard it worth the extra cost vs. a Sport. What are the differences? I am aware of the dust cover and the forward assist. I don't think either are a requirement...
