shield 45 or the shield 45 performance center

I am looking to get a shield 45 (as my EDC), but I am jumping back and forth between the standard shield 45 and the shield 45 performance center. Do you guys think that the shield 45 performance center model is worth the addition 100 bucks or so more?

    Gluing the Thumb Safety

I have been carrying my Shield 45 as my EDC weapon, it have a safety (only one available at the time). I never engage it and drill sweeping the safety down (with my thumb) when I draw. I have been told to glue the safety down in the un-engage position just to be sure. What do you guys...

    Shield slide lock?

I think that the real point should be, just because you see a video on line- it doesn’t make it the correct way to do anything.Alway refer to the manual.

    Shield slide lock?

Per the S&W manual, it is a slide stop, not a slide release. On page 17- They recommend the slingshot method. - It is your weapon, but I would not mess with it.

My question is have anyone had their Shield’s slide safety engaging by accident.

My question is have anyone had their Shield’s slide safety engaging by accident. I have one of the first Shields in 9mm, it has the slide safety, it is a great EDC (except when I am carrying a 642 in my front pocket). The slide safety is a concern (what if it get put on by accident?). Would...

Which is better- 38 sp.+P Rev. or 380 pistol for pocket carry

I have been using the “Federal HST Micro 130gr 38 Special +P” in my S&W 642, the recoil is not bad-even with my standard size grips (in pocket carry weight and size is everything).

Which is better- 38 sp.+P Rev. or 380 pistol for pocket carry

After a great day at the range, we stopped for lunch and had this discussion, and I would like your guys input- The discussion was : which would be a better pocket carry a 5 shot S&W 642 ( 38 special +p) or a 7 shot Glock 42 (or LCP 2) in 380. For us a pocket carry is an EDC with a weight of...

    Model 642 questions

The 642 is a great EDC, I have several other pistols but they are heavier and I have found myself leaving them at home (for those short runs to the store). Now with the 642, I never leave home without it. This set-up work for me, fitting nicely in my right front pocket. . I would suggest that...

Plug for M&P Shield after thumb safety removal

I have both the shield 9mm and the 45acp, they both have the safety and with the help of two or three drops of clear Gorilla Glue, the problem is gone ( I have never sold any of my pistols, but even if there is a new owner, he can’t engage it ).

    S&W Non-Lock Revolvers

The deactivation of the internal safety, but leaving the appearance of having a lock could be a problem (if someone think that they lock the action, but it is still hot)

    S&W Non-Lock Revolvers

If you can’t find the S&W Rev. which you want w/out the internal lock, you could get the model which you want and just re-move the internal lock and put a plug in the hole. (Save the removed part, it can be re-installed for re-sale)

Shield 45 ACP THUMB SAFETY question

I got an S&W shield in 45 ACP, great pistol, but there is one thing about it that I don’t like- THE THUMB SAFETY. Can it be disabled-or would a drop of gorilla glue do the job? I know that people say not to worry about it, but for my peace of mind, it need to go away.

    Shield 45 Guide Rod

I had the same problem with the recoil spring assembly in my shield 45, I returned it to S&W, took about two weeks to come back, the recoil spring assembly was about 1/16 longer and just barely extend long enough to engage the barrel lug.It seems to perform fine, but I don't feel comfortable...

9mm vs 45 ACP in a Shield single stack EDC pistol

I know that some people need to carry an EDC pistol which carries 15 or more round, but for me, I just can’t carry a brick very long. I like the S&W Shield single stack for a pistol which I would carry every day. I am OK w/ a 7 or 8 round pistol. Saying that, with the same number of rounds...
