    RCBS sizing die question

+1 with ALK8944 Check the top/side for the die markings and that should tell the tale. As a side note if you have a steel size die and contact RCBS they will send you and adaptor, nut and current decapping pin as a retrofit

Plated bullets: Taper crimp vs. roll crimp

From the Berrys website Q&A: You can use both the Taper and Roll Crimp on Berry's Bullets. We recommend a light crimp on the bullet, just enough to put pressure against the bullet without denting or deforming the plating. If you were to pull the bullet out of a case with the proper crimp you...

    Check my load please!

The older Berry's load sheet shows a COL of 1.060 for the 115g FP. Load data for plated pullets is sometimes a bit hard to find in the mainstream load data publications.

Berry's 115grn fp COL help needed

I have a copy of the Berry's chart from 2016 and it shows a COL of 1.060 for the FP 115g bullets. By comparison the chart shows 115g RN as 1.130 and the 124g RN at 1.160. The ogive of the bullet in relation to the start of the lands and groves while maintaining case tension is what your really...

    Broken RCBS 10-10 scale base

Guess I didn't mention the screw holes are not even aligned well to add to the fun, the washers have file notches in them to even them out so the Buba holes will need to be abandoned. Though it is an option I want to try and do something better than washers

    Broken RCBS 10-10 scale base

Food for thought from all. I tried just setting it on the base, but the poise is far enough off thst i would have to mess with the pan base weights to get some wiggle room for fine tuning on the poise A buddy of mine has the same scale so I can get all the dimensions. I'm leaning towards a H...

    Broken RCBS 10-10 scale base

As a part of a trade deal I sight unseen I received this 10-10 scale. It is in perfect condition except for the scale base. Somewhere in its life something happened to the two rear pivot legs which are now missing. In their place a pair of washers were screwed on to provide the rear pivot point...

Need help on HBWC flush seating dies and....

Just to mention I would also check into the RCBS cowboy expander stems, there are three different sizes to accommodate the lead bullets and expand a lot deeper than a standard expander. I believe I have the .358 installed in a standard die set body that I am experimenting with some wad cutters...

    Old Hornady .358 SWC OAL

In a package deal from an estate sale I got box and a half of some very vintage red cardboard box Hornady #3588 .358 SWC bullets. Unfortunately my Hornady manual is a newer version  which they now call this bullet a #10408 seated for a 1.455 OAL in .38 and 1.59 in .357. Does anyone have an old...

    RCBS Die Question

the little fella's as you call them are the setscrews that go into an RCBS press to hold in the "Automatic Primer Feed Combo" onto an RCBS press that will take it and the screw with the hole and cup are a part of the universal primer arm for a RCBS press.

    Cleaning the powder measure

Lee PPM's seem to have a love/hate thing going. If you google lee PPM fix all kinds od stuff shows up. I had one when I first started out and as you state it always threw accurate charges. I had the stickshon and leakage issue as well with AA#5. The major cause seems to be the cone in socket...

    Saving old brass

Sigh… My question was quite simple (I thought) and as usual around here despite pleas otherwise this post has dissolved into an opinion piece that diverted away from the original question (bleeding fingers and brasso…didn’t anticipate that coming) and reached an inevitable end. Thank you to...

    Saving old brass

Guess I should have done this up front... here's what the stages looked like. The 9mm is pretty much what all of the brass looked like across the board. The next three were after tumbling the whole lot and I sorted by head stamp. The third group is after the lemishine bath and where I have my...

    Saving old brass

Always got to be one (or two):) The lemishine a actually was pretty surprising and did a pretty good job for the most part on a lot of the brass. I should have taken a before picture. Technically I have a Cabelas Model 400 Vibratory Case Tumbler...least that's what the label tells me.

    Saving old brass

Hopefully this does not turn into testimonials of unobtainium pins in a Mr Fusion cryogenic centrifuge, I am strictly small time working on less than 400 pieces of brass.  I was given some old brass from a neighbor who has had it in a closet since his father passed. In the box was some  .38...

Final report...Model 64-8 and Rem primers

Here's the pix, you can definitely see the difference in the firing pin strike on the primers. Thanks all for the aid.

Final report...Model 64-8 and Rem primers

Final report, finally made it out to the range and fired if a box of reloads that were loded at the same sitting as the original box that gave me problems. The primer strikes are definately more pronounced, though some if the primers did have a less pronounced strike, which I believe are the...

Final report...Model 64-8 and Rem primers

Update, I got some time to open up the side plate and pull the firing pin to see what's going on. When I removed the firing pin it was fairly clean and gunk free so my cleaning methods are working. The caliper told the tale, the firing pin measured out to .485, so well below what lefty quoted as...
