    Found My 60-4, Finally

The 44 special is a great cartridge. I have been reloading it since the eighties for my model 24's, a couple of non-S&W revolvers, and then a 624; before I got my first 696 which I think is the perfect gun for the cartridge. As for the 60-4, I love 3 inch J-frames and have three different...

    45 CAL. MODEL 1950 from 1952

Went out and shot the new M-1950 along side my M-1955. It shoots the 230 gr. hardball the best as expected and at 5-1/2 ounces lighter, handles much better than the M-1955 with the longer and heavier barrel. Like ddxie, I didn't get a bargain. But then, you can't get much nowadays for what I...

    45 CAL. MODEL 1950 from 1952

Found a Model 1950 Target 45 I got something similar through out-of-state Armslist last week. I usually won't take risks like that but it was for a 1950 Target 45 acp (pre-26), with a 5" barrel (no, it was not factory 5") so I took a chance and I like what I got, a lot. The original Patridge...

model 696 or the new model 69?

This is not the first time S&W faced demand out-pacing production. I remember wanting a Model 29 in the early seventies and looking for a Model-66 right after it was announced. S&W DID NOT compromise back then, it is, however, willing to cut corners now. Sad.

    Model 63

I got the feeling that you are someone who would put a 427 V-8 in a 63 Ferrari Testa Rossa because you like to have more torque. There are all kinds. If that's what you want, go for it. Whatever turns you on. Post some pictures when you're done. I bet lots of us here can use a laugh; I...

    M48-2(really?)

That's a strange "defect" to have on your Model 48. Wonder what caused it. My 48-4 has had at least a thousand rounds through it and never a hiccup.

Clint Eastwood's Square Butt 2-1/2" M-66 He sure did. See clipping. I doubt the prop man would go swap a barrel for a few movie shots.
