    New 629 Mountain Gun

Mine is a bit to the right too. I just put an orange FO front sight on it. It is quite a bit shorter. It will not look as classic as the bead. I will get to the range and check it out.

    New 629 Mountain Gun

I ordered a shorter front sight. It will give me more adjustability with my loads. I am not a huge fan of the bead front sight.

How to bring revolver shooters back to IPSC?

Probably a lot of truth here. One day classic DA sixguns will be the latest fad. Shooters born well after the year 2000 will enamored with guns of the New West.

    Your least favorite S&W revolver

Model 22 Combat Masterpiece. Empties were hard to eject and always shot to the left. A LGS owner wanted it really bad, so I sold it to him. I was honest about its issues. He was a gunsmith and said that he would fix it. The dang thing would shoot into about 1 inch at 25 yards with young eyes.

New batch of 1180 fps loads shot well. The front sight does seem a bit tall.

    New 629 Mountain Gun

Rimfires can be tricky. I have a GP100-22 that had a choice between a very heavy trigger pull or misfires in DA mode. Deburring , a spring swap and adding a washer to the mainspring strut solved it. It was a bit of an ordeal.

    New 629 Mountain Gun

No malfunctions. It did seem a little stiff. My 920 fps 44 Spl. handloads were very accurate. My 1180 fps. 44 mag handloads had mediocre accuracy. I used Power Pistol and some very old 240 gr. hard cast swc's. The lube on some of the bullets was a little uneven. I will relube or melt them...

Do the "bug out" folks really want this kind of living???

bugging out Bugging out is really only a very short term proposition. It might work for a crisis like a hurricane , major fire, earthquake or terrorist attack. If you can get to a safer place or survive a disaster for a few days it can work. Thousands of urbanites running out to rural areas...

    9C or fs 9mm?

I love my 9C. The xgrip on a full size mag works great at the range or for less than concealed carry. I was looking at a shield but the slide seems about the same width so I stayed with the 9C. Now if more 9mm ammo was available.
