    Appropriate ammo for a 1962 S&W 36 no dash

I just picked up a model 36 in .38 special and was wondering what kind of ammo is safe to shoot. I was thinking 158 gr. lead round nose or semi-wad cutters. Any other bullet weights I can safely shoot? What about jacketed rounds?

    Feeling kind of snubby today

I just picked up a blued S&W model 36 no dash flat latch in excellent original condition earlier this week. The serial number is 261942 which would put it in the early 1960's. I was wondering if someone has a data base that might nail down the shipping date a little better. Thank you in advance.

    Purchasing from Guns.com

I have not bought from them as I think their prices are too high, and they don't have enough pictures of the gun they are selling in some cases.

$400.00 is a very good price. I would have broken my wrist trying to get my wallet out fast from my pants pocket.

Are there any gunsmiths that work on Hand Eject revolvers?

I'm not a gunsmith, but I play one on TV. I bought two 38 M&P 4th change revolvers. One was really hard to cock in single action. Took it apart and found the main spring was a Bubba home made special. Bought a used one on Ebay, replaced it and it worked beautifully. I traded for a second 38 M&P...

Anybody else buying the precious metal dip?

I understand a lot of coin shop owners are being inundated with 90% junk silver and can't sell them. So, they are selling to wholesalers who are selling to refiners who are melting them down. Might cause a shortage o 90% down the road.

I Wish I Knew More About Old S&Ws

I have been gravitating towards the older pre-war era S&W revolvers, especially the M&P's. I like the fit and finish as the craftsmanship of that era was second to none, and they didn't have CNC technology. I prefer the ones that show honest wear, but no rust or pitting due to misuse. If they...
