    Military Surplus Powder NM-13

Went to the range today and I would say the 700x data is good to use. The gun used was a Contender with a 10" barrel. Primers were just starting to flatten with the 5.7 load. I used Hornady 158 gr jhp.

    Military Surplus Powder NM-13

That is the plan. I already have some .357 mag loaded in 4 increments. 5 cases in each. The load data between 700x and greed dot is too different so I am starting with the 700x data. Won't get to range with the chrony till next week. I will post what I come up with. I'm using the Hodgdon data...

The commercial powder was sealed, all in plastic bottles, Clays is one 4lb bottle. There was also 2 cans 7828 and 4895 that were dented and rusty. That stuff is getting pitched.

I felt the Clays and 4831 were worth the purchase and the surplus powder just came along for ride. If I can use it all the better.

    Military Surplus Powder NM-13

Thanks everyone, I found the reference to 700x. I'll try to work something up in 9mm, 40mm, .357, and .380. As for where I found this powder, it was in a box at a flee market with a fresh 4lb bottle of Clays and a 1lb bottle of 4831. I thought for $40 for the box I better get it.

    Shield factory casing

My 40 shield has a date of 7/17/2013 and the case is a CCI aluminum (Blazer I guess) and it looks just fine. They must use a variety of test ammo. I never used any Blazer aluminum ammo, are they just plinking loads? My reloads go through it just fine no bulges or lines of any kind. 155 gr jhp...

Reassembly problem with Shield - HELP!

I agree that the manual is referring to the assembly being cocked, but the pdf images are much better that the ones in the printed manual.

Reassembly problem with Shield - HELP!

Good evening, I am new to this forum and I found it by a search for this very issue on my new Shield .40. I am going to try to attach some photos of what I found and fixed. The main recoil springs edges were sharp enough to cut, and some edges where the spring has to pass with very little...
