Just picked up a Shield plus and noticed I got one that’s been collecting dust for a while, built in 2021. Only noticed because the polymer seems a good bit different than what they’re using now. Are there any “bugs” from older models I need to be watching out for?

Thanks for the input. Yeah there's a polymer trigger available. Shield9mm, any particular reason why you wouldn't add the polymer trigger to the DCEAK? Didn't think it lightened the trigger pull or anything.

I've been mulling the idea of putting an Apex polymer action enhanced trigger in my M&P to supplement the DCAEK I have in. Is this a worthwhile upgrade? I really don't have a problem with the hinged trigger, but the pre-travel annoys me a little. Thought maybe it would help that, and potentially...

I'll echo what's already been said... If you can, shoot both and then decide. If you can't, then buy a Shield :)

I installed the Apex DCAEK in my new FS 9mm last week. Now when I pull the trigger, the sear does not go flush with the rest of the block. I called Apex about this, and was told as long as the striker is being released this isn't a problem. So, should I leave it be, or open the shepherd's crook...

If you know you like i-dots I would hesitate on the Ameriglos. The fit/finish suits the Shield better than the stock sights. I have the ProGlo Operator 3 dot but this should give you an idea:

Another Shield 9mm vote. Way more comfortable than any other small single stack I've tried. And it's fun to shoot, which in my opinion is rare for a small gun, and goes a long way for your practice/training.

Sorry, second question today... Short of buying an FSS, is there a reliable way to get the FS M&P pre travel to be more similar to the Shield? I just put the DCEAK on my FS, which in hindsight probably wasn't necessary because I believe I have the latest stock trigger. I didn't go for the...

I'm trying to install an Apex kit on my new M&P. Even though I went out the same direction as the YouTube video and used a roll pin punch, I still managed to flake some metal off the pin. Do I need to get a new one?

After researching longer than I'm willing to admit, I ordered AmeriGlo Pro-Glos yesterday. Don't have them yet but I'll try to remember to post feedback when I get them.

I just bought a 9mm Shield to replace the .40 PPS I intend to sell. So far I love it, likely my favorite gun purchase yet. I'm now shopping for night sights. I usually buy Mepros, but hate the form factor for the Shield model. I figure this is a good chance to finally try the Ameriglo ProGlos...
