    Sweetness

Yours might like the Remington CoreLokt or Hornady Whitetail 150 gr rounds if it liked the 147's. Mine sure does, and those are 18-21$/box, soft point.

    QUESTION ABOUT REAR IRON SIGHTS

http://kitup.military.com/2012/07/back-up-iron-sight-drop-test.html Found it. It's an interesting test.

    QUESTION ABOUT REAR IRON SIGHTS

Magpul- especially since you are running a red dot. I don't remember where I saw it, but a guy did a test of the MBUS, Troy and another rear flip- dropped the rifle on the concrete on the sight. The metal ones bent and were way off. The magpul was good to go.

    QUESTION ABOUT REAR IRON SIGHTS

Uh, yeah- that's a rear sight problem. Glad you found it, sounds like a much easier fix than a f'd up front block/sight.

    QUESTION ABOUT REAR IRON SIGHTS

Possibly the front sight tower/a2 block slightly twisted to the right? I would drop a level on the receiver rail and the front tower ears, and make sure they are the same.

    free float rails updated

That is Krylon camo- tan base, then brown overspray with leaves and evergreens from around our place, followed up with three coats flat clear.

    free float rails updated

No screws, this is a very solid mounting handguard. I remember reading that as well, and cannot remember which brand it was- MI I think. apexhandguard.com has them- you want the DPMS style.

    CARRY HANDLE & FRONT SIGHT

armalite.com has a set of NM sights/carry handle. They are pricey! The front sight is a clamp on style as well.

A rifle is in "All" it's glory when it is used and performs as it is built for!

    Ejector stringing by the clock

Brass ejected forward (2 o'clock) is a result of excess gas, and the further back it goes the lower the gas pressure. That is a general statement. Several things can change the brass pattern other than gas- namely buffer spring strength, buffer weight, and BCG weight. It is completely normal...

    loose buttstock

So it is a magpul MOE stock that is loose. I ran some smooth 2" wide camo tape over the buffer tube from the bottom channel slot, and from the end of the buffer tube to the end of the buttstock in the position I shoot it. That took out all the slack and still provides for adjustability.

    M&P10 CYCLING ISSUES Please Help

Did you gap the gas block from the barrel shoulder, the width of the stock forend clamp?

    M&P 10 Carry Handle

No, Smith does not. Rock River Arms sells an A2 style front sight that is rail mount, and height matching rail mount rear sight/handles.

    Adjustable gas block

I am a big fan of the JP adjustable gas blocks. That being said, I have not used one on an M&P 10- their low-profile adjustable block is short enough to fit before the barrel narrows, and clamps to mount (very secure). Because I was doing a free float forend, I realized I would not be able to...

    Camo Paint

I used the Krylon ultra flat camo paint, with a flat clear coat. I took most of the rifle apart (forend, buffer tube, scope mount, stock) to paint separately. Everything painted was cleaned with alcohol and dried. Besides the receiver and parts of the scope, I taped off the gas tube. The...

    Camo Paint

After a lot of prepping, taping, dismantling and practicing on plywood- the finished product. I used a FDE basecoat and flat brown overspray, then sealed with flat clear. The foliage pattern is from needles, leaves and shrubbery around our place. It was scary to start, but fun once it...

    Has anyone tried ---

If you can have a smith dimple one of the set screw locations on the underside of the barrel, it will be a lot more secure. I used a clamp style since part of the block remained exposed. The issue with with the type you received is it puts pressure top and bottom and is not a full...

    AR-10 or .308 Bolt action

I have a Browning X-bolt in .300 WSM, a .308 savage, and the M&P-10. As far as carrying a lightweight gun, the X-bolt is a featherweight on my shoulder and easy to carry all day as if it is not there. Obviously however, it kicks like a mule. The .308 Savage is an older octagonal barrel rifle...

    M&P AR-10 Scope recommendations?

The Leupold vx3 1.5-6x20 is mine, and I love it. There is a 2-8x32 at the same price point ($400) as well as CDS dial for another $50. I can tell you this- clarity is superb, rapid sight aquisition on 1.5 is easy, and 6 is more than enough to put rounds on a 6" pie plate at 200yrds. The eye...

    100yard bad result

Mach1 is right, there could be a number of things compounding the problem. If that is all the same ammo, try some different weight andengths. For example, my gun will print 1.5 inch 5 shot groups at 100, with Remington 150gr sp rounds, but I went through 180 and 165 gr rounds, several types...
