I carry two spare mags in a leather pouch in my left front pocket. looks like a cell phone in my pocket.

You could try the ulticlip with whatever holster you prefer. My wife really likes it as she doesn't wear a belt but it holds her gun/holster securely IWB.

I have had no failures to lock back besides the few when my Shield was new and my thumb was hitting the lever.... adjusted my grip and never a problem since. No excessive wear on my slide stop. not sure if you were asking me or Ballistic147.

just wondering... if or when it fails to auto forward does that throw you off or cause hesitation having to then manually release the slide?

It can be used to release the slide but was not designed for that purpose...my opinion based on the user manual and... it likely would have a larger button and be easier to disengage if that was the case. My guess would be the nose profile of the hollow points are slightly bumping the slide stop as they pop up to the feed lips. try HP's with a different nose profile (more rounded maybe). Also shoot it left handed to be sure it's not your thumb doing it.

I had the same issue at first. My thumb was hitting it somehow. Solved after adjusting my grip. Try shooting it left handed and see if it still happens.

I have a Shield 9 nts and love it. My wife got a CCP as soon as they were available. It is a nice shooting pistol. She wanted something smaller to carry so she got a Sig P938 but we both still enjoy shooting the CCP at the range.

I use a shot timer app on my iphone also... it will actually pick up the click of a dry fire if positioned close to the gun.

I'm wondering how much, if any, velocity will be lost due to the porting. That could affect performance of SD loads.

Just to be clear, I never advocated for not using the sights, only that having the front sight in focus is not always required.

Only difference I see worth considering is capacity. The 9 is +1 over the 40 and the magguts conversions are available for the 9 and not the 40.... so that makes it +2. 9mm ammo is a bit cheaper also. both the 9 and 40 are good in my opinion.

I can hit just fine at 25 yards focusing on the target. As I said my sights... even though they are not in perfect focus.... are still clearly visible to align for accurate shots. I agree that trigger control is the key factor. As long as you're able to align the sights you will hit the target...
