    Plus cylinder in SSR

Theoretically a seven shot cylinder can be installed in an S & W 686 SSR. Besides the cylinder, ratchet and extractor star, do you need any other parts. I'd like to be able to switch back and forth between the 6 and seven shot cylinders. Oh, and I guess maybe the hand.

    686 SSR hammer spring interference

I have 686 SSR that I changed the hammer spring to a Wilson spring. When using the stock SSR wooden grip in place pulling the trigger results in the hammer stirrup disengaging from the hammer. The hammer spring appears to be a flat rebent S & W spring and it hits the stock screw only with the...

    S & W model 627 PC 2 5/8"

All of the major holster manufacturers seem to skip over this revolver. Does anyone know if someone makes a transverse shoulder holster for this revolver. I have several Galco and ******* rigs for auto pistols I carry, but I can't find any of the big makers list this revolver? This thing was...

    Lowest mainspring weight

In practice not theory, which kind of S & W action can use the lowest mainspring weight. I.E firing pin on hammer nose, or firing pin in frame. That is within frame size.

What 357 or 38 S&W revolver would you carry for a pocket gun concealed?

I read your question exactly but I might be bending the answer slightly. Sorry if that is the case. I carry my S & w model 940-1

    SW 686 versus COLT Python?

I own both. My Python was built in 77. I will never sell it cause it can't be replaced. It was my primary shooting 38/357 for many years. I've heard a lot about Pythons being delicate, but after 10's of thousands it is still in good time and scary accurate. I have 5 different 686s and 686+s...

    Bullitt Holster for J-Frame

9R2 for 38/357 I found 1 marked as above. Does not mention barrel length. Or frame size. Guessing J or K up to 2 1/2 inch? Might give it a try with a 2 1/2 inch L frame

    Bullitt Holster for J-Frame

To Rednicholes Thanks for chiming in and telling the difference between the 9R, the 9R1, and the 9R2, and the 9R3. I mistakenly believed the 9R3 was for 3 inch guns. I'm still lurking around the sites trying to find a 9R for my S & W model 60 Pro Series 3 inch barrel

    Bullitt Holster for J-Frame

Bianchi 9R3 Thank you to Mr Nichols for chiming in. As I stated I wear a Bianchi 9R with my S&W model 940-1 and it is a beautiful piece of work. Very secure. Bought it of EBay and it is like new, and still passes Reds test easily. Now looking for a 9R 3 for my S&W model 60 3 inch

    Bullitt Holster for J-Frame

Bianchi 9R I use the Bianchi version of this holster with my S & W model 940-1. The designer of this might chime in. The original was designed and marketed by Berns- Martin. Bianchi as I understand bought the rights to make this holster. The Bianchi version uses a spring instead of elastic...

    9mm Revolver CCW

I like mine As I posted about this in another sub forum, my present EDC is an S & W model 940-1. It is carried in a Bianchi 9R upside down shoulder holster. I like the extra weight for taming the Hornady Critical Duty 135 grain flex lock load. The 940 is the smoothest Jframe I have...

    J-frame: Enough?

For me yes My system has evolved over the years and will probably continue. As it presently exists it is a S&W model 940-1 in a Bianchi 9R with Hornaday Critical Duty 135 grain flexloc. The steel frames weight tames the recoil for fast and accurate follow up shots, and the holster makes the...
