Anybody Else Use Bianchi Lightning Grip

Well, it took three and a half months to locate a vintage S&W Model 60 (that wasn't grossly overpriced), but it's here. My first pair of Bianchi 'Lightning' Bodyguard style grips came on a 1979 K frame S&W Model 64-2 DAO (right), bought used in 1981. The most recent pair are now on this 1977-78...

Anybody Else Use Bianchi Lightning Grip

Thanks Chief 38. The Tyler-T was one option tried back in the day. It just didn't feel right to me. Shortly after the T-grip adapter was a Hogue MonoGrip which did fill my hand. Correct, concealability was compromised with both Hogue and Bianchi grips. However, along with a large body frame, I...

Anybody Else Use Bianchi Lightning Grip

With my meat hooks, fastest grip change I ever had was an old pair of S&W Targets given to me by a FTO. With those targets on that Model 67, and .38 Special +P, 158 grain LSWC-HP carry ammo, the second knuckle on my middle finger took a beating. After trying Pachmayr's, eventually, settled on...

Anybody Else Use Bianchi Lightning Grip

ZOMBIE Thread Alert... Bianchi Lightning Bodyguard style grips have had a place on a couple of my revolvers for four and a half decades!. First set was on a 1979 S&W 2" Model 64-2 snubby, bought off a U.S. Deputy Marshal in 1981 (bottom in 1st pic). Second set were put on a 1987 S&W 3" Model...

    LEO Marked S&W Semi-Autos

Re: S&W Model 4053 marked "V.C.B.D." Justicetyme... I stumbled onto a post in this forum from February 3, 2009. Member VAdoublegunner says he had owned a S&W 4053 marked "V.C.B.D." for about ten years. This forum member recalls that "V.C.B.D." stands for Ventura County Beach Division (Park...

    LEO Marked S&W Semi-Autos

Hey James, Just a thought... Have you checked for obscure importer's marks? I ask as "C.B.D." or "CBD" (Central Business District) in many foreign countries is the identifier used to designate the nation's major population center.

A Gander Mountain sporting goods department manager in New York thought my S&W 10-6 marked "JP 550" was from Jacksonville, Florida PD. It took just twenty minutes to locate the connection to Jordanian National Police.

Did a Google search for "revolver butt plate with sheriff's star marked WSP". Western Stage Props was the first result. (See below.) Still looking for confirmation. Until then... still just an entity of interest.

While I have yet to confirm this, yet, I may have located the source of these revolver butt plates with an Old West Sheriff's / Marshal's star. Check this out... WSP are the initials of 'Western Stage Props' in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Is it Scorpio or Scorpion? (Bianchi 13)

This Bianchi #13A shoulder holster was acquired in 1984 to go with a new 9mm S&W Model 469 Minigun. Afterwards, I noticed the harness and holster are labeled "Scorpio." However, the dual magazine carrier is labeled "Scorpion." Notice how this transitional Bianchi #13A was made without the...

Evidence, and Court Ordered Asset Forfeiture, Marked Firearms

The 3" S&W Model 65-3 which bears AF 11-1213 Exh 1 MMN is one of my handguns. It was purchased about five years ago from Cabela’s in Fort Worth, TX, and shipped to a Cabela’s here in Kentucky. It's the handgun that prompted me to search for a meaning behind the "AF" markings. As it arrived in...

6906: Help with sights and Is It an "Evidence" Gun?

Redcoat3340 After extensive searching, it appears that firearms marked like this have been subjected to asset forfeiture ("AF") proceedings in state or territorial courts. AF = Asset Forfeiture 03 = 2003 (Year the case was initiated.) 1749 = Sequential case number of that year. C.P.P. =...

I'm not a tool mark expert... so I could be wrong. But, to me the "11" appears to have been applied by a hammer and punch, after the sideplate was wire brushed to remove pitting. However, without seeing the other side, and the frame behind the cylinder yoke, plus both sides of the grip fame...
