Agreed 100%, the balance and the caliber is a fantastic combo. I don't shoot .38's from my .357's, they aren't any cheaper and heck, that's what my .38's are for. The .357 magnum is the perfect handgun round.

Here's the 586 that got me wanting a 686. Honestly, this 586- is the nicest revolver I have ever shot. I think the -86 series of wheelies are near perfection in both function and caliber.

Thank you and yes! I almost didn't like them at first... My 586 has beautiful targets and it's what I prefer but these have really grown on me.

When I first moved to Tennessee my first gun show purchase was a beaut of a 4" 586- in factory nickel, shoots SO beautiful but it's just too pretty to carry and be "rough" with IMO. So I have been looking for a 4" 686 since. Last week I happened to cross paths with this one. :D I'm all smiles...

As a recent SoCal escapee, I know how difficult it is to get stuff like that OP, not to mention the hassle if it's non C&R (or if you don't have an 03) and the miserable ten day DROS and a SECOND trip to the LGS... I would have bought it too... disappointment in the Refi - yeah a little sure...
