    Proper function of Model 40 & 42

I got there on my own. With the pin in the bottom hole the top pin was easy to remove. Thanks! I'm a dummy!!

    Proper function of Model 40 & 42

I haven't quite figured out how the squeeze safety works. I have both models from 1973 presumably new in the box. The removable pin is under the grips as it should be. There are actually 3 holes these pins can fit in, storage hole, upper safety hole and lower safety hole, for lack of better...

    S&W Model 50

The gun I'm looking at is stamped Model 50. The serial number indicates it's a 1973-74 manufacture. But the serial is not in the range of the 568 units. My question is, were there others in that year?

    S&W Model 50

I'm confused about Model 50 serial numbers. I understand that there were 568 units manufactured in 1973 in a specific range of 930J45-936J19. Were there others in addition to these in the normal serial range starting at J100000 per SCS&W for 1973-74?

    Model 33

Finding one LNIB has proven to be difficult. Popular or not they're elusive and not inexpensive. I'm assuming due to the unpopularity there were fewer made than some of the other models. Out of maybe 250 shows I've been to I've never seen one.

I've been searching for info concerning S&W Model 33. Is this Model considered rare? Am I searching wrong?

    S&W Model 66 barrel lengths

According to SCSW (all editions) there should be a premium for the 6 1/8" barrel length Model 66. That is actually the source and reason for my curiosity. It isn't addressed as a tolerance issue.

    S&W Model 66 barrel lengths

Is the Model 66-1 with a 6 1/8" barrel really unusual? Does it deserve any sort of a premium? I'm speaking of a new in box example.

    Nickel Model 58

The gun pictured is not mine. I have not posted pictures. Hair Trigger my gun is approximately 800 lower than yours. It did ship in a 1 gun order with factory diamond numbered magnas.

    Nickel Model 58

I just received my S&W letter. It took 2 weeks; I anticipated 4 months. I never have figured out how to post pictures. It turns out the Model 58 was shipped to Cullum & Boren in Dallas on June 27, 1968. It did indeed ship with a nickel finish and still has no "N" stamps anywhere.

Yes, I looked on the cylinder under the star. The serial # is there but no N.

Not sure about posting images. I'll try. The hammer and trigger are case hardened.

    Nickel Model 58

My first post on this forum. I recently acquired a 1967-8 nickel plated Model 58. It has no N stamps anywhere that I can determine. I have read on the forum that doesn't necessarily mean it is not a factory nickel finish. It has the original numbered grips and they didn't appear to have ever...
