    Girsan Hi Power

I also have a Sarsilmaz .45 like this, 13 shot, right? works great but heavy. They are more of a beefed up CZ-75.

New Hampshire passes a law to Protect Sig Sauer from Libility

I also have a 320 X5 Legion for a few years with no problem but only use it for targets and bowling pins. Never carry it on me, too heavy. But now I think I'll load one in the chamber and let it sit somewhere pointed in a safe direction to see if it'll go off by itself sometimes.

    Taurus 627 Tracker ?

I've had a 4" Tracker .44 magnum for a few years now. I admit that I haven't put a whole lot of rounds through it, maybe 200 full power and a bunch of .44 specials. It handles the recoil very well with the cool rubber grips and is just as accurate as any revolver I've ever had. And the sights...

    Gun Show 586

My 586 no dash had a severely worn barrel throat, so I sent it to the factory for repair and 'the works' last June. Got it back in January in like new condition. Brand new 6" barrel, new trigger and hammer, The "M" hammer nose bushing installed and all reblued like new. I haven't shot it yet. It...

I will have a cheap and ugly gun!

I still have my .44 special Charter 3" stainless bulldog w/pocket hammer. Bought it in Alaska around 1983, It still is about the biggest bad boy that rides in my front pants pocket almost every day. Loaded with 240 gr SWC hard cast bullets ready for any occasion. I recall a musher in the...

    Whats your latest purchase? "guns/accessories"

Sold my old Browning 1919 machine gun last year and ended up with a couple cases of 30-06 left over. Fortunately found a Ruger American 30-06. I already have two Americans, a 6.5 CM and a 7.62x39, have had very good luck with them. Can't wait to start turning my shoulder purple with it.

Comment by 'moongoon' in media 'This an M57 Yugoslav Tokarev pistol. It differs from its Russian predecessor primarily in that it has a longer grip frame, accommodating a longer 9-r'

I have several of these I bought on my C&R license. With some old military [corrosive] ammo it chronographed at 1440 FPS.

Need a good medium power load for a 44 Mag.

I'm having good luck with Hi-Tek coated hard cast bullets from Chey-Chey bullet company in Wyoming. I'm loading a 200 grain hard cast coated .430 sized bullet up to well over 1000fps with no leading at all. Using Titegroup and CFE Pistol, but there's no reason your favorite powder wouldn't work...

    Canik anyone have one?

I have 2 Caniks, the first model FS and now the target model SFX. Very different feel for each but both 100% reliable. Been using the SFX at the local bowling pin shoots with good success. Warren rear sight combined with a fiber optic up front and the very light trigger make a for a fast and...

    From a distance, I thought it was a 586. I was wrong.

I have had lots of different brands of revolvers in .44 magnum, S&W, Ruger and Taurus, also a Rossi Ranch Hand w/ 12" barrel. I have a favorite 240 grain hardcast load that clocks 1340 fps from the Ranch Hand, the same load runs 1240 fps from the 4" Taurus Tracker and is very accurate too. It's...

    most accurate .357 revolver

Way back in the 80's I had a 4" S&W don't remember the model, didn't shoot as well as I thought it should so I let it go and got a beautiful nickel plated Colt Trooper 4". I couldn't hit very well with that one either, sold it. Then I came across a used Ruger GP 100 SS 4" and it's still one of...

    M&P 45

I bought a M&P .45 in FDE when they first came out. Compared to the Glock 22 I was used to, it felt like a sports car in the hand. Used it on bowling pins for a while with good results until I found a Canik SFX and have never looked back, but that's nothing against the M&P. It's still one of my...

Ammo recomendation for a short barrel 45acp

I just use 230 grain hardball in my short ATI Titan 3.1" barrel, or 200 grain SWC cuts a big hole to let the air out quickly. I think the reduced velocity from a short barrel, most hollow points would have limited expansion. Don't use lead bullets in your Glock though.

    10mm Automatics

    Clunker Time!

Bury that Bryco! If you drop the slide with a live round in the chamber, and the firing pin does not lock back when you cock it, IT WILL GO OFF! Nearly blew my finger off with one of those, a Bryco .380. Worse gun I have ever owned and I've had a lot. I sold it to someone I didn't like very...

    Home defense/SHTF rifle

#1 choice for home protection for me is 12 gauge pump loaded with bird shot. Hits like a slug at very close range, shreds flesh like a meat grinder but won't over penetrate walls and such. Honorable mention goes to pistol caliber carbines, even a High Point is very effective and intimidating...

    Griz Kills Mom & Infant

I believe handguns are mostly forbidden in Canada. Besides , while 10mm is better than nothing, any serious bear protection starts with .44. the article says that husband killed the bear but didn't say what kind of gun he used. Very sad story.

My two revolvers picky about coated bullets....

I have been using Chey-Hard cast bullets w/hi-tek coating, in 9mm, .38, and .429 for a while with very good results in a wide variety of guns. No leading problems, just keep velocity under 1100 fps. Much cleaner than plain lead and less smoke because there is no extra lube on them. I also have...

Brand new BLEW UP IN MY FACE ON SHOT#16

This sort of thing has happened to me twice, though not with an AR. First time was an FN 49 8mm that had gas issues[over gassed], ripped the base of the cartridge off before the pressure had released. nearly blew my eardrums out but did not damage the rifle. Fixed it by installing a new barrel...
