I know what you mean. Not only the cylinder release but the grip as well. Just not for me. If it was for me, I wouldn't have gotten it but it's my wife's. She tried several & this one suited her "taste". She brought the release movement to my attention & I told her I would check on this forum...

@bigggbbruce...a "little slop" is that the release wiggles forward & back...just a little. It's never been fired (bought it yesterday) & the place I got it will make it good if there's actually a problem, so no, S&W isn't my only option. @Andy Lowry...yes, it's on the top of the revolver...

My wife recently bought an M&P Bodyguard. 38 Special. She loves it but on examination, she discovered a little slop in the cylinder release when closed. It releases the cylinder just fine but will move forward & back (the slop) when the cylinder is closed. Is this normal? I've never owned one...

Update...Talons are on the way & I'm keeping the bat wings & just going to remove the detent ball & spring to make it a decocker only. Too easy to get carried away on improvs but where there's a will, there's a way! Got a nice DeSantis pancake for OTW & a Clinger Stingray for IWB should be here...
