My brother sent his back because the thumb safety would engage when firing. They sent it back after putting in a new safety. Second time out, it did it again. It is back at S&W, and they said they hadn't applied the "fix" which includes a stronger detent and spring. Time will tell.

Held it at the NRA show this past weekend. Hard to tell the difference between it and the 4.0" compact. I think it is intended for the appendix carry people. Kahr did a similar thing making a P9 grip size with a PM9 (Short) slide.

He is sure he didn't catch the lever with the right knuckle and has sent it back to S&W on their dime. 4-6 weeks will tell if there was a problem.

I went to the range (outdoors, very cold today) with my brother who brought his .380 Shield with Thumb Safety. While he was shooting, the safety came on. He said he didn't touch it. I watched another magazine or two with him shooting, and it did it again twice. His thumb clearly did not touch...

Just returned from the range, where I shot my brother's .380 EZ. Yes, the slide is quite easy to rack....feels mostly like my 22 Compact. The grip safety is unobtrusive.....Didn't notice it at first. Shooting it, there is barely any more recoil than the .22lr version. No, it's not a gun for me...

Shield 9mm at 8 yds (I seldom shoot further)

I got to play with a M2 Compact with the Flatty Apex at my gunsmith's shop last week. VERY short takeup and reset. I have the AEK Apex kit on mine, but have to admit, the flat one is awesome. You will really like it.

I had the same problem, and it turned out to be a bent/out of spec trigger bar. Replaced and working perfect now. Glad yours is working as well.

I can recommend the Williams Fire Sights for the 22 Compact.

Dawson Precision used to show a "carry" set of them for the 22Compact. They only show a set of "suppressor height" tritium for it. Maybe just out of stock on the carry height. I'd call them. As I don't carry mine, I got the Williams Fire Sights for mine. Very bright in daylight, still visible...

I pocket carry my Kahr P380 in a Nemesis holster when I don't have something on that covers a 4 O'clock IWB.

I didn't know that they made a TLR-6 for the full size M&P.

Thanks.....I'll keep an eye on that. It isn't on every round, but enough that I found myself dodging them a few times. A hot one down the t-shirt isn't fun. ha ha
