I guess I'll have to purchase what a I was initially intending and get a feel for it. When buying the Sport II, I really made up my mind that I wanted to try and keep it as stock as possible.

This is exactly the type of set up I was looking for. I think I'll just go ahead a grab a MS3 from Cabelas, and return it if it doesn't work well. How do you like that setup with the MS2? Does it move around a lot when walking, or can you have it tight up against your body? Love your AR setup...

Thats good to know, because I actually wanted that sling initially, but wasn't sure if it would work with my set up. It seemed that every picture I could find of a sport II that had it was using modified connectors of some sort. I think I'll check out Cabela's return policy, and buy it and see...

I guess I wanted something that I could just throw on if needed. I've never messed with slings before, and didn't know if threading it on and off was just a pain. I feel like with a simple clip it just comes right off

I was actually looking at that earlier, but it appears one side has to be threaded through. I wonder if there is a sling out there that could simply "clip on" both ends of the stock rifle.

Cheaper than dirt! Get em while you can. I am about to place an order now. Think I'll go with the 5.56 since I've never shot any, only used winchester .223 during the short time I've had the Sport 2.

Might bite the bullet (no pun intended) and by 1000 bulk. There is Federal 223 for $299.99, or PMC X-TAC 5.56 for $299.99. Which should I go with?

I bought mine for $539. No tax and free shipping. Plus an additional $25 for the FFL. I still thought that was a bargain, considering Cabelas is still listing them for $699 not including tax.

So I ended up measuring it (using a standard measuring tape) and it came out to 13/16 of an inch, which from what I can gather online translates to .8125. Just a hair off of the .835. I'm assuming if I had one of those digital clamp measuring tools that it would be more precise. I'll take i though!

It is definitely something I would like to do in the future. Literally have only had this firearm for a couple of weeks now. Baby steps :D
