Well, I just got a 5904, so i'm on my way-

I've got a new shield with maybe 300 rounds through at most. The tip broke off the striker. I have probably dry fired 1000 times. S&W sent me a new pin and I replaced it. Caused by dry firing? Who knows, but with my 3914 it is snap caps only so far.

Do the 17 round mec gar mags work fine? What about the 20 round mags? I've got a 5904.

How much was cheap 22lr and 9mm before this all started? I'm new to guns since then.

I won a 3914 on Gunbroker on Monday ($275), my FFL had it on Wednesday, I picked it up yesterday, and was at the range today. My previous 9 was a shield. Let me tell you, I love it! I find it much better to shoot than the shield - much less snappy. Only about 4 oz heavier when loaded. I...

Got mine today, put 300 cheap bulk rounds through it without a hiccup. So far so good.
