Do what you want..but the area that needs to be reduced will not affect the rachet integrity. All of my other moon clips revolvers have proper clearance. The one in the picture is what it looks like now after cleaning up the rachet.

Ideally, I would like a quality 30mm tube, 3-5 MOA dot, compact (low base mount) for action pistol. I have a couple of Aimpoint H2 6MOA red dots that are really great, just wish they had the larger 30mm tube. Also considering trying a green dot.
