Smith and Wesson life time warranty and Customer Service experiences .

Bought a model 66 no dash a few months ago and the top plate screw was beat up. Even though it was covered by the stocks it bothered me, S&W sent me a replacement set gratis. My new Bodyguard 2 had one mag that wouldn’t take 12 rounds no matter what I did. The sent me a new guide spring and...

Which 66 (No Dash) is the better gun?

Either gun will clean up nicely. If I had to pick one it would be number 2 and I source a new rear sight. If the price is right grab both. I bought a no dash a few months ago and other than a good cleaning (it was swimming in oil) it was fairly clean. I love them.

    Let's talk 1970s K frame magnums

I bought my first 66 back in the late 1980’s, 4 inches super accurate and a pleasure to shoot. This gun got me into reloading 148gr wadcutters and 158gr JHP, the only magnums I used were for hunting. The subject of forcing cones splitting never came up, it was unheard of. Now my original 66 is...

Honest Outlaw review of the Bodyguard 2.0

Just made the switch from the LCP MAX to the BG2. I had done a load of work and never had any issues with it, but the grip on the BG2 is just so nice. Going to get it ready for a range session on Wednesday. I did watch his video on it, but like all reviews I took it with a grain of salt.

    Bodyguard 2.0 Safety Failure

They don’t make one for the Bodyguard 2 😢

    Bodyguard 2.0 Safety Failure

I currently have the LCP Max and am considering moving to the Bodyguard 2.0 for the slightly longer grip. Generally I like waiting about a year so the manufacture and go through their growing and perfect the gun especially if I’m going to use it as an EDC. The Max had its issues when it first...

    K Frame Trigger Stop

I have a 1976 Model 66, no dash and noticed the trigger stop wasn’t there, it must have been removed by one of the previous owners. I was able to source one, installation seems straight forward however I have a couple of questions: Once installed does it need to be adjusted? If so how? What...

    Unique Powder

Powders in general are near impossible to find. I’ve been looking for Bullseye to no avail.

    22 Target Pistol Recommendations

You can’t go wrong with a Ruger. I had a MK II Government with a bull barrel, 6 inch. Dead on accurate but a pain to clean until you learn how to break it down and reassemble. Today I have a Taurus TX22 Compact, accurate and lighter than the Ruger.

    .380 acp reloading

Finding powder and primers are top concern. I started reloading in the late 80’s and components were plentiful, now not so much. The only ammo I would consider reloading is 38sp/357 mag wadcutters which I haven’t seen, I’m not even sure if they’re being made. To me it’s just easier to mail order...

Looking for pocket carry gun under $500

I’m a fan of the LCP Max and found it reliable and easy to carry after the following: Upgraded trigger Upgraded recoil spring and guide rod Upgraded (heavier) magazine release spring These are things I felt it needed and never had a reliability issue at all. I am trying out the M&P 9 Shield...

NRA Life Membership for $600 !! Extended!!

I joined the NRA back in the 80’s and realized it was a waste of money for me. Living in New York they were absolutely useless doing nothing to lobby for gun rights in my state. Oh I did get their magazine but other than that nothing else. Then with all the corruption and mismanagement no thanks.

    Sad Day

Are they discontinued? I haven’t reloaded in 40 years and was thinking of starting up again, I can’t find wadcutters for sale commercially. Went looking for powdered and it’s non existent. Gone forever?

Local store has a 66-1 for $700... should I jump on it?

I’ve been told that S&W used a harder alloy steel for the original 66. This came from an an armorer. I’ve only seen one 66 that that the cone cracked and that was a from a guy who would hot load his 357 mag cartridges. I love shooting 38’s and 38+P’s out of it, with pachmayr grips there’s...

Local store has a 66-1 for $700... should I jump on it?

In the late 1980’s I bought a 66 no dash and it was my favorite gun. Fast forward a few years later I’m now married and have a kid, with NY gun laws and outrageous permit fees I had to give it up. Fast forward to 2025, I’m retired and living in a gun friendly state and I been thinking about my...
