I have a 1976 Model 66, no dash and noticed the trigger stop wasn’t there, it must have been removed by one of the previous owners. I was able to source one, installation seems straight forward however I have a couple of questions:

Once installed does it need to be adjusted? If so how?
What exactly is its purpose? I really cant see it making much of a difference and I know they’re often removed.

I appreciate the help,

Lance

The factory sent literature to all LE agencies in the 70’s to remove the trigger stops from their revolvers due to reports of stops getting loose and moving down a tad which would prevent the gun from being fired. As far as adjustment, just be sure your stop is adjusted where there is a fraction of play after the hammer is dropped from the pull of the trigger.
