I can't find anyone who makes grips for this gun. I can find 22A, 41, etc. but not 22a-1. I love this gun for bullseye but the grips are on the small size for large hands. I tried friction tape but it is still to small. Any ideas on where I can get grips or any ideas on grip additives to make larger.

Altamont has them for a 22a. Is a 22a-1 different? Altamont Company - Smith & Wesson

What is the difference between the 22A and the 22A-1. In most cases where a manufacturer makes an engineering change (the -1) without changing the model name (22A) it would connote that there is little external difference and hence accessories would fit both models. Maybe you (or I) are overthinking this?

Ok, I just dug out the s&w bible (Std Catalog) and just get 22a grips, you are overthinking this, the -1 revision is "improvement to the barrel assy mechanics to prevent breakage when field stripping"
Think of it this way, model 29, 29-2, 29-3 etc, it is just an engineering revision not an entirely new model.
