Letter request - current lead time
I mailed my first request on 15 December. Curious as to what the current lead time is for History Letters. This request is for my .44 Special 4th Model Military.

The lead time varies with the revolver being lettered. The letters issued by Roy Jinks can take up to six months because of the type of research required. If Don Mundell does your letter, it may be back to you in three weeks or less. Sorry for the lack of certainty, but this is the current situation.

Thank you Bill. At least now I have an idea of what to expect.

Hugh, You can see my post right below yours, but I see your letter is probably in your hands by now.

My first three requests only took a couple of weeks to receive my letters. The form for my 3" 65-3 was mailed out late September last year and has yet to be received. Check was cashed early October. My two follow up emails have gone unanswered. Maybe mine is one that requires research by Mr. Jinks.

Sent in a request early July 2022 with check cashed late July for a 1917 issued to my great-uncle in WW2. Has an extra serial # on the cylinder.

I mailed a request for a letter on July 7, 2022.
Check was cashed in August of 2022.
Still waiting for the results.
