Just sent off for a letter on an early Model 60- curious as to approximate turnaround time has been lately? Any info is appreciated.

I sent a request in late July and have not received it yet. I sent an email to check on it last week and haven't heard back.

I can only imagine the number of letter and deep dive requests and the time that it takes to handle such a task. It will be worth the wait and I appreciate that we have the opportunity to have access to the letters.

Agreed on all points...It would be an easier wait if there was a way to know progress on the research, and maybe a heads up when a letter is in the mail...;)...Ben

Letter received yesterday after 19 days. My Model 60 was shipped to Camfour in Westfield MA on Feb 12, 1970. I’d say 19 days is great timing.

I think the wait time for letters is mostly dependent on the gun. Any/all (older) guns for which the Historical Foundation has the information makes for a very snappy response (or not, depending on Don's workload----how many requests are stacked up in front of yours).

Then there's newer stuff, and Don's at the mercy of S&W for the information----as in "Hurry up and wait!".

I got my first letter in 1984---and I've been through good times and bad since then!

These are GOOD TIMES!!

Count your blessings!!
