In the 1970's (majority of the boxes I have seen have a 1970's date), S&W manufactured handcuffs specifically for the military. I have seen one box a few years ago that had a Model 95 stamped on the box. I have never seen a brochure or catalog that advertised these handcuffs, so by seeing one box with the Model 95 marking, that is where I get this model classification.
These handcuffs only have the S&W Trade Mark logo stamped on the front (keyway side) of the right hand cuff. No other markings, such as address, model or serial number are stamped on this model. These are basically a Model 90 without all the stampings.
The boxes are a 2-piece brown box with military markings on the top.
This box is printed:
8465-242-7860
HANDCUFF
1 EACH
DSA100-70-C-0492
A -, 3/70
LOT # 5
The one shown here is in nickel finish. The majority observed are blued.
If you are a collector of S&W handcuffs, this is one model you need to look for.
