Edited to correctly attribute the source book:

I recognize it from the book "Twelve Revolvers" edited by Roy G. Jinks published by Ellett Bros., Chapin, South Carolina.

The name of the painting was Hostiles by Dan Smith. According to the book S&W reproduced the original 1902 painting for posters in gun shops. I leave it to Don or others here more knowledgeable if modern reproductions were made or if indeed this is an original. Is the back of the frame sealed or can you inspect the rear of it or perhaps if there are margins on the front that have copyright information that might indicate it's a modern re-print?

Roy Jinks is my grandfather, and this picture came out of the original smith & Wesson office. D B Wesson before he became Dan Smith.

Please explain this. D B Wesson and Dan Smith are not the same person.

Time to take it to Antiques Roadshow! Cross your fingers tha it hasn't been trimmed to frame it or it is a repop!

It's one hundred percent original. Worth $750.00 to $1000.00. Without provenance as to it hanging in an office on Stockbridge street, it can't be proven. I could say all my pre-1950s posters all hung in Stockbridge Street.
