Anyone got reviews of use on it? Took a look at a new one, and the fit and finish the poly stocks was really bad? noticeable and uneven gaps on forestock. Maybe a bad one from factory but was pretty unimpressed conidering the cost. After so many excellent handguns, was pretty disappointed in a smith rifle.

Sounds more like S&W typicalis a lack of quality control to me .

I've never carried for synthetic stocks on rifle and still use a birch wood stock in a bolt action I bought in '73 but it was sanded and tongue oiled instead and recoated ever few years . Looks like new after all these years .

Is a 44mag your gota have cartridge choice then buy a Marlin lever action.

Browning makes the best lever rifle you can buy and cost as about the same but nooo handgun cartridge options .
