I realize many companies have FPS (feet per second) data on the box but some still do not.

Of the ammo that is available that is faster than the typical .22LR HV ammo (1255 fps and the 1280 fps) is there anyone shooting the 1400 fps or 1600 fps rounds with any success....and is it racking the bolt too violently?

Been thinking about trying the faster stuff but don't want to buy any until I get some feedback from a couple of M&P 15-22 users.

Still waiting for delivery of my M&P 15-22 so I'm not chomping at the bit for an answer, besides I have plenty of 1260 fsp CCI Mini Mag to last for awhile. So if anyone trys this faster ammo could you please post a response with your results, and opinion.

Thanks.

i have some Winchester Super X Super speed thats 1300fps, it worked great in mine.

Gunzilla: Just received my 15-22 last wk. So far the ammo that works best for me is CCI Mini Mag. I've shot Federal, Remington (not Thunderbolt), Winchester standard .22 LR.

My accuracy was also best with the CCI. {:{)}

Most of the HyperVelocity stuff gets the extra speed by lightening the bullet to about 30 grains. I think they're pretty much the same pressure as high velocity stuff. I have read of some standard velocity working but I suspect its on a case-by-case basis.

is 1400fps safe in our weapons? i read the manual but its not really clear what pressures to avoid (to avoid blowing the gun apart)

Have shot hundreds of CCI Stingers and Velocitors with no issues, other then the brass leaving the rifle with purpose!

(man it really flies outta there :D )
