Default trigger pin size for M&P 15-22?

Does anyone know the trigger pin size for the M&P 15-22? I'm debating a new trigger and can't tell if I need one for small or large pins. Thanks!!

I will say this, those rifles may have the match grade barrel, but the trigger sure ain't. It's horrendous.

While a long way from being perfect, the trigger on my 15-22 is way better than the trigger on the Colt M4 OPS that I had before the 15-22. That Colt trigger was real junk.

The good thing about the 15-22 is you can put any mil spec AR trigger in to replace the OE trigger. And take it back out if you need to send your gun back to S&W. A lot of aftermarket trigger upgrades available for the 15-22.

My 15-22 has a decent barrel, but I dunno about the barrel being match grade.

I recently purchased an M&P 15 22, I have not been able to get to the range with it yet. I asked a number of friends about their experience with the 15 22. It seems that there are minor problems with the Smith versus the Colt copy. I've handled the Colt but have not shot one. A friend or mine indicates that his group of range buddies who have had the Colt were very dissatisfied with them and have since replaced them with the Smiths. It seems that the Colt's were made of pot metal and have wear problems. I'm hoping to add a Chip McCormick type of trigger to improve the trigger pull. I have been told that the stock trigger will shoot in.

As soon as I can get out to the range, tomorrow, I hope to check it out. I have two other M&P15s and like them very much. I have added a Walther red dot sight to mine and will eventually add the Magpul folding sights to it.

I have been unable to find extra magazines locally, has anyone else experienced a problem locating magazines?

I'm looking forward to an enjoyable shooting experience with the M&P1522.

Congrats on your 15-22. As an Ex Colt M4 OPS owner, I know first hand about their trigger.

44mag.com should have some magazines. Also directly from S&W.

If you start getting those match grade groups @ 50 yards on a target, post up what you did to get them. I haven't seen them there yet.

I added a red dot scope and am interested in the magpul folders too. I just can't seem to find the height for them listed anywhere. Do you know the height of the front and rear?
And if you need extra mags then just order them straight from S&W. Other places have them a bit cheaper but once you add in the extra shipping cost you are probably better off getting them from S&W.

Definately small pins (.154 I believe).

Be aware, that with a aftermarket trigger, some fitting may be required (which is normal). I have a RRA 2-Stage in my regular AR. It was a little tight going in and I had to stone down the safety lug on the rear of the trigger a bit to get it to operate. Just for the fun of it, I tried putting the trigger into the M&P15-22 a few days ago and found that I would have to remove a little more from the safety lug to get it to fit. Since it's tuned perfect for my regular AR, I scraped the idea and returned the trigger back to stock. I'll have to just save up for a new trigger.

I ran the Rock River Two-Stage trigger in my M&P 15-22 from the first day, but it's a $100 trigger in a $400 plinker rifle. (Trigger was pirated from another rifle.)

"Why not try making the stock trigger better?" said I before sending Brownells any more money

I did the "15 Minute Practical Trigger Job for the AR15" on the standard, furnished parts. The trigger is much better than stock and still has plenty of hammer power to detonate rim fire cartridges. Don't cost nothing (but a little time).

Match trigger? No. But this ain't a match rifle either.

If you want to have better groups. Make sure the barrel nut is tight. The stock trigger is pretty gritty. To get all the grit out. Do the 15 Minute Trigger Job, spray it down with brake cleaner, acetone or your favorite de-greaser. Let it dry. Lightly lube the moving "bearing" parts. NOT the sear!! Re-assemble, instal and enjoy.

for my first post I'd like to say that I am a sponge for the 15-22. I've never done any trigger work of any other gunsmithing for that matter but I am a hell of a competitor. I want to compete with my new 15-22 but want to take care of that pesky trigger problem. I'll learn how to install later but what I want to know is what do I buy. Help a brother out will ya?

Are you wanting to massage your stock trigger, or replace it with an upgrade?

There are several good drop in triggers available. Timney, Wilson Combat, etc. Depends on how much $$$ you want to spend.
