This may be a stupid question with a simple answer but I want to take the flash hider off of my 15-22 and would like to know how to do it. I don't see a set screw or pin like most other flash hiders have. I tried just turning it, but it is on there good and tight. I'm asking before I damage anything beyond repair. I appreciate the help.
looking at it from the end of the barrel counter clock wise is the way to go.. second you will want to hold on the the barrel not the reciever when getting it loose.. and lastly use a sharp blow from somthing like the palm of your hand of a hammer it doesnt take much but just like a impact gun the tap will turn it loose pretty easy and keep you from putting to much torque on it
Using a strap wrench to hold on to the barrel and an open-end wrench on the flash hider would probably be the easiest without trying to clamp the barrel in a vise.
Go up a wrench size and slip a leather strip between the metal if you want to avoid marring the finish.
