Sorry I didn't do a formal intro.

New to the forums. I am glad I made the right purchase of getting the M&P 15-22 as I used to go threw 500+ round of 5.56mm a week. I needed alternative 22LR to train with. A friend has the COLT .22LR and was intrigued with it but learned it is a Uramex product. I did more research and was about to buy a .22LR drop in kit for my LMT. Reading more that the kits are not as accurate since the rifling doesn't start right away with the drop in kit.

Trigger response is not as quite I would like it to be, hopefully I find some intel on here on internal upgrades.

I pretty much tried replicate everything that is on my main blaster to the M&P 15-22. The EOtech 556.A65 of course i just transferred and re-zero'd cause buying another $600 Halo sight wouldn't be right for a $300 gun as well as the $1300 Insight ATPIAL.

Other than that, I hope this site will give me the info on upgrades and flaws.

Today did some live fire drills. Minimum 75ft engagement with the M&P 15-22 and 50ft hand gun. Sorry I'm a Sig man, but am considering getting a M&P compact 45ACP in FDE for my CCW.

I've been told by some of the big wigs around here to get the jp spring kit and flitz metal polish and it should fix the trigger issue if that isnt good enough for your feel then maybe try the 15min trigger job look it up on you tube its suppose to work just fine with no problems down the road.

Nice build!

Regarding the trigger, I put JP springs in my 15-22. It doesn't make it a Geisselle, but it is a distinct improvement. If you're not aware of it, the 15-22 will accept any AR trigger group.

How do you like the AFG? I have it but I am still on the fence. I don't really have a high enough round count running it to make a definitive judgment.

Sig man here, too. I own enough Smiths that I am pretty sure I will not be damned to Purgatory for the lack of an M&P.

wow what a sexy setup. I think i want to get the clone of the halo.
So what are the specs on that sig? It looks like a beauty. I have a springfield xd 40 but it feels a little boxy for me, dont get me wrong its a great gun but not exactly a gun i would carry.

Been using the AFG when it first came out and love it. I originally will use a Tango Down stubby for reference point but with the AFG it is more comforatable. Good for high speed acquisition.

Thanks for the heads up on the trigger assembly. M&P15-22 look like a AR platform but I didn't notice some differences. I also called S&W before purchasing it and they told that nothing can be change with AR parts ie the front hand guard. Now that I see I can be, I might just build a replica BCM Middy with a DD RIS MK18 middy. Get the barrel cut down to 14.5" and pinned by ADCO with BattleComp 1.5 to reach 16 AOL restrictions. I know the Battlecomp won't be effective with the 22, but at least I'll get close looking aesthetically.

AFG

I love my brandy new AFG2 in black, I've got 200 rounds thru it, it does take a little getting used to. So far, I have it all the way forward.
I filled the rest of the forearm with nice soft ladders. Nice improvement.

I've got a Hogue grip coming for it. I've had one on my AR for years and love it.

@SU17 is your 15-22 FDE? it looks lighter than most of the guns ive seen with FDE but I love the look. Also being a sig guy do you know much about the sig mosquitos? Im wanting to get one in winter digital but dont know anyone that has one

Yeah it's FDE, just the camera flash. The MagPul CTR stock is one of the first productions and is Black. I sprayed it with Tan and a sprinkle of Dark Earth paint

As for the Mosquitos... I rented one at the range to try before I got one. The digital on those make look like a toy to much. I prefer the non-digital ones. Very ammo specific and recommends CCI only. It's alright but the price for it IMO it too much. I got a Sig Certified refurbished P226R in .40SW with a Short Reset Trigger upgrade for the same price.

I've got a Mosquito and I like it. It has a nice "full size" feel to it. You'll probably read a lot of negative things about in on the interweb, but it seems to be people who put the spring in backwards, didn't clean and lube it, and aren't using the recommended ammo (CCI). It's always the complainers who are the most vocal right?

I haven't had any issues with it.

While I most likely wont be ammo dumping like I do with the 25rd mag how does Federal Bulk work in the Mosquito

that's a no go... I kept on having problems when i didn't have any CCI left i was using a buddies Feredal at the range. I get like 5 shots then problems.

I tried Winchester, Remington... so far the CCI are really best for a Mosquito

Hey did you have to bend that Battery Lever like you do the MAGpul BAD?

No, it comes straight. Plus i bought the Enhanced version. I did thought took a dremel and shaved a little of the polymer lower by the mag release button.. will post pics later to show you

MiniMags ONLY for the Sig.

To paraphrase Brooke Shields, "Nothing goes in my Mosquito but CCI MiniMags."
