3 questions for you
First off I wanna say how much I enjoy my rifle. Since I purchased it I haven't even pulled the full size big brother out of the safe.
I'm to the point now where I really wanna start customizing the weapon and make it one of the best I own. I have my first suppressor ordered and am currently waiting for it to come into my dealer on a form 3. Here's my questions:
Will subsonic ammo cycle the weapon? Is there a brand you prefer?
I would like to put a after market trigger in such as a Timney or the new 3MR. Is the lower capable of accepting a milspec trigger? If not what are my options?
Is the AR ambi-safety straight off the shelf going to work? Or do I need the special one sold by Simple Solutions?
OK that's more than 3

Not sure on everything but as far as I know any AR-15 FCG parts will work in the 15-22. That means the trigger and the safety should be fine.

Any ammo with a MV over 1,000 fps will cycle a clean action just fine. Anything under that can be problematic and only actually trying it will tell you if it will function in your rifle. Under 900 fps ... Forget it.

CCI Standard Velocity is the gold standard for suppressed shooting. It will cycle the 1522 perfectly and stay subsonic.

CCI standard velocity as mentioned is probably the best choice for subsonic. Still strong enough to cycle the action.
The safety in the 15-22 will need to be specific to the 15-22 since the width is slightly different.
For the reason of the safety above, it's not likely that the 3MR trigger will work since it requires a new safety selector. Also, the way the 3MR trigger works may require more force than is available in a .22. I read in a forum somewhere that someone else asked the people that make the 3MR trigger about use in the 15-22 and they didn't believe that it would. They may try to design a version that will work in the future.

I stand corrected on the safety. The 15-22 lower width is like .93 and the AR-15 is something like .83. I forgot about this lower thickness issue because I have an AR-15 safety in mine right now and it works just fine but I am different and it probably will not work for you.

i put an extra Chip McCormick drop in straight trigger in mine, fits and functions perfect..cheap too, just over $100 (under if you find on sale) mine also has a dedicated can and i'll run any kind of ammo you put in it from winchester SS's to federal SS's. only thing it won't is CB caps but that is to be expected since they have no primer.
i haven't cleaned the gun in over 700 rounds and it still runs perfect, that will be a summer project (we are backwards down here in AZ, too hot to hunt in summer)
bottom line is i have found no ammo that will malf unless it is an ammo problem in and of itself (dud, etc). YMMV but i've had no issues.

With regard to the trigger, I wanted my 15-22 to feel and perform as closely as possible to its big brother AR-15's so I put in a Geissele SSA - which is what I use in my AR-15's.
Expensive relative to the cost of the rifle, but worth it from a training platform benefit standpoint.

you know Rolex, i tried the Geissele and could not get it right. even my LGS gunsmith just could not get it to break where i wanted it on my Bushmaster Predator. I'm glad you are happy with yours, but that pull 2 pins and drop in the CMC at 3.5# suits me just fine.
I have heard from other buds that the Geissele is a work of art, or a picasso, until you get it right, then it is amazing. just have not felt or shot one that i particularly cared for. could be just me and doing it wrong.
Glad you like yours.....Happy Holidays and Hunting!!!

Absolutely. I installed a Geissele Super Dynamic 3 Gun trigger. I REALLY like it. Great trigger. 2 1/2 lb pull with the light spring.
Use their Colt 901 pins, PART# 02-269, they're the right length for the (wider) 15-22 receiver. They sit flush rather than recessed like the stock pins. Has to be better having full bearing in the polymer.
