Charging handle
Ive owned my Ar 15-22 for about a year now and have loved shooting it, however the ability to customize it like a most Ar's is virtually non existant. Looking at the many types of customized parts Ive always wanted an ambidextrious charging handle latch. Not being able to find one I decided to make my own. Please critique and comment.
Thanks

What do you mean by non-existent? Mine has a Nordic full float alloy front tube, Geissele competition trigger, remote bolt release, and Ergo overmolded grip with palm shelf.
There are ambidextrous charging handle lever out there although I have not considered seeing if one can be modified. I suppose if I still shot left-handed I would be more serious about it.

That looks good. I have one that I drew up and almost started, but my need for it was not enough. I'm still kicking around the idea of modifying mine to have a side charging handle and getting rid of the rear one. Don't like working that far back when shooting.

Acft aluminum.
It was made from acft grade aluminum. For the guy who said they make an abundance of parts for the ar 15-22, yeah the lower receiver is the same as a typical ar, upper is not. Ofcoures you can find parts for it. I've got a barrel shroud, etc but for 22 application specific and specifically to the sections of the gun like the charging handle release they don't make. I've been through and through always looking for parts.

That certainly looks like it would work.....anybody know for sure if a standard AR latch will fit the charging handles on our rifles?

Morning TAMARISK
The standard AR latch works a bit differently than the 15-22 latch.
On the 15-22- the charging handle latch snaps OVER & hooks on a protruding bump on the upper receiver.
On the AR- the latch snaps INTO a depression hole on the upper so the latch is a bit different shape & length.
Maybe with enough bending & re-work the standard AR latch would work on the 15-22 but it sure isn't a drop in fit.

No. Standard AR latches will not work. The latch face to the pivot hole is all wrong and unfortunately can't be modified.
NDZ has some great latches that can be customized.
I have some charging handles.
