I see the Blazer ammo is not jacketed or plated, just lead. I'd always been told (when shooting from my target days) to never shoot lead at supersonic speeds, just plated. So while I could have bought this, or other lead bullets for a $1 more at Palmetto, I opted for Federal Champion jacketed for $17.99 for 525 rounds. I personally will always opt for those over the plain lead, for a couple bucks more.
I'm guessing that many/most of you don't mind lead in your 15-22s?

Cool! Yeah, that's a little "spendier" than I want to be right now. Mr. smiley-face is green with envy.

There is NO jacketed .22 LR; it simply doesn't exist. All .22 LR is either plain lead or plated.
FWIW, I've been shooting plain lead off and on for 40 years with no particular problem. All you have to do is clean the barrel a little more often.

That's why I called it jacketed/plated.

Well, I've never shot supersonic lead, and I don't think I'm going to start now. I just bought my 15-22, from Palmetto Armory, in fact, in Friday, and then recommended only plated, when I mentioned their sale ammo. They have other ammo in the store now at $14.99/500, but I paid the extra for plated. That's just me, and obviously a lot of people don't mind the lead. I shoot nothing but lead (subsonic) in my target .22 pistols, and used to shoot lead subsonics in my .45, but anything higher than 1090fps is going to be plated, for me.

Got my order today. Magazine was in the plastic package from S&W. Rounds were in the same box as posted on the site. Same boxes that I buy from Dicks for 19.99. I hope they run deals like this more often.

I got my order today also. Like mr2r6 said, my 15-22 mags were in the original S&W packaging and the Blazer .22 looked just like I would buy elsewhere. My lower parts kit was well packaged also. Lightning fast (free!) shipping. PSA has definitely earned my business.

Yep, got mine Tuesday after package shipped Monday......but I'm also very close to them. 4 mags packaged in a large cardboard box with PLENTY of protection. Hell I wondered if they had put extra stuff in the box b/c of the size, but it was just packaging.
Very satisfied with the transaction and experience with them. I will be ordering from them again!

Blazer ammo is back in stock. I went to order 3 bricks until I realized it was not free shipping. After adding $9 for shipping, I decided not to order.

I have just concluded my latest (and last) order with PSA. After a delay, cancellation and restocking fee fiasco, I will no longer be dealing with them.
Sad really, as they have made and could have continued to make money off me.
I am happy that everyone else got their good plinking ammo.

Sorry you had a bad experience, strobro. I got by order in reasonable time and it's been running great in my two .22s. I think we overwhelmed them.

What you are refering to as "plated" is a misnomer. .22 bullets that appear to be copper colored are actually copper "washed" which is a form solution that provides some lubrication without the grease or wax lube feel..this is way different than plated...............best regards Plumbago

I'm just going by the wording on the package "Copper-Plated". In any event, as mentioned before, I've always been told to never shoot lead, except sub-sonic. In fact, when I picked up my 15-22, from Palmetto Armory, in fact, they told me to not shoot the lead (like the Blazer on sale), but always shoot plated. I do the same with my pistols.
But, to each his/her own. ;-)

I clean my guns after EVERY trip out shooting...
No issues at all......
But I do like the Federal better than Blazers though... Blazers work GREAt in my wife's P22 so she shoots alot of them.... ill empty the currently opened box ion my 15-22 mags then usually open a fresh Federal box ta finish up
all good.... all fun....

Same thing for me. I thinkg the free shipping was for last weekend only. After paying $9 shipping, I figured to only save about $1 so I decided not to order.

I agree. I'm still waiting for my Blazer and mags. I also ordered a Taurus Judge and is still pending. I called to cancel and they told me of their bs restocking fee. Funny they where very quick to charge my card! This will be my last order with them. Their excuse is they are behind because of the free shipping promo. Maybe before you do a promotion like this PREPARE by having more staff on hand. Rant over.

There is both copper washed and copper plated. Plated is thicker and reduces leading more than washed and is a tad more expensive. Most manufacturers make the distinction in their package labeling.

you would think they would get the " FREE SHIPPING " in bright red letters off of their homepage then.

This is correct. CCI Mini-Mags are copper plated.

i ordered a couple boxes last night, and yes the site is acting poorly (took me about 30 min to get the order in without timing out, and some pages took forever to load). i think the free shipping on ammo is overwhelming them.

Ok. I got one order today of my mags and CCI blazer ammo. I did not however have any indication that my other orders had shipped, and I placed them a day later! I called CS, for about the 5th time, and spoke to someone. Oddly enough later that night I got a tracking number for my Judge to my FFL, and this morning my other ammo order shipped. I guess they got sick of me calling them.
At least they made it right but I will be hesitant to order from them again.

With the FREE shipping it must be BOGGING them down for sure....
I will not hesitate to order again from them when the need arises... just plan for a few xtra days shipping

Behold the rock-em sock-em world of the free market. I love it!
Some customers are content to put up with minor annoyances; others get mad right away and threaten boycotts. All the while profitability hangs by a thread as entrepreneurs scramble to give us precisely what we want.
We are truly blessed.

On the ammo and mags I don't mind waiting. I ordered a new gun and I'm not accustomed to waiting over a week for such a large purchase to ship.

Not much you can do. At least it shipped yesterday and since it's a handgun it has to go 2 day shipping. That means new gun time tomorrow!

While lots of ammo brands or calibers is out of stock due to the sale; there still is quite a bit to choose from. I opted for 9mm to fill a gap in the ammo hoard.
