I have a standard 15 22 with holographic sight and am having a blast including good accuracy with this set up. I just got a nikon rimfire 3x9x40 ballistic reticle scope and nikon 1 piece mount. wife wants to get another rifle rather than switch out these two sight systems on the same rifle. should we spend the additional $200 for a performance center gun for the scoped rifle or get another standard mp15 22 for scoping? Would the performance center gun with its supposedly better barrell and trigger and the above scope give significantly better accuracy($200) worth?

there's also a difference in the chamber size, and the performance center doesn't handle rounds like stingers very well (not that you'd be using those for accuracy). the std 15-22 supposedly has a match grade barrel. I would go the route of buying the std model, and doing a nice trigger job on it, but that's just me as I like a project.

thacheese, I agree,a good trigger, which could amount to the $200 in question would definitely be a more valuable accuracy contributor than changing from the basic model. my present gun is no accuracy slouch as is but you got to admit its kind of cool to have my wife urge me to buy the second rifle for the scope so I don't have to switch out and re zero a lot. I think the second one will be the standard not the performance center rifle. Thanks for the words of sanity.

I bought the PC model because of the threaded barrel to fit my Sparrow. Have not handled the standard version but I like my 15-22. Did not have to do a thing/upgrade to it and it have been absolutely awesome from day one.

most models of the standard 15-22 have a threaded barrel, I hope that wasnt the only reason you bought the pc.
