Went to remove the flash hider so i could install my suppressor. That thing is really on there. Here is what i did...removed the bolt carrier assembly and relatched the upper and lower. Took lookse the barrel suppor at the end of thr quad rail, laid the gun flat on a bench, held pressure on the upper and lower and pressure on the middle of the quad rail while my buddy loosened the flash hider. Came on off. Still was tight tho.

Any possible way i hurt anything doin it this way?

As far as the suppressor.(aac pilot 2)install goes, just install the spacer and can correct? And when i reinstall the flash hider, just put on the crush.washer with small.side.toward barrel and.flat side.to flash hider correct?

Thanks

Trying to remove anything from the barrel without a proper BARREL VICE (wood or metal) is asking to destroy the upper.

You cannot treat a polymer receiver like an aluminum or steel receiver.

Yep, I twisted the barrel inside of a 15-22 doing it that way once. On my newest one I used a strap wrench to hold the barrel and a large crescent wrench on the flash hider.

Pics or it didn't happen... haha Just kidding. This is going to be my next purchase.

BB, to answer your questions:

Yes, it's possible you could damage the rifle removing the flash suppressor that way, yes, the can goes on as you described, and yes, the crush washer goes the way you described.

2 pieces of 2x4 pin in a vice works every time. when vice is tightened it leaves a barrel impression in the wood that grips the barrel tight. wood may crack after a couple times, but now that you have it off you don't need to tighten up so much, 1/4 turn past finger tight is about it.
next time or next gun, use the above but use a torch and heat the FH up so the red locktite they use on it melts, it will come right off.
