PLINKER TACTICAL 35 ROUND
Guess I am suffering from rifle withdrawal. After posting about this mag I decided to get it out & load it.
I did not buy it was given to me new in package. I could see right off why I will only be buying S&W mags from now on. Any of you have & use it, what y'all think of it. & what does it sell for ?

I have 3. They all work very well. As I have stated in several other threads, I believe there performance depends on how you load them. In my experience, if you just start dropping shells in, they will not stack properly which I believe affects the way they feed. I have found if you work the load assist up and down as you load each shell, they seem to stagger the way they should. If you keep an eye on the rounds in the rear "window" as you load, you can keep tabs on the stagger.
JMO and your results may vary, but like I said I am more than satisfied with mine.

Either they work or they don't. Most folks find they don't. The QC is pretty much non-existant and all you get from PT's customer service is BS. I know from hard experience with both their charging handle and their magazines.
They sent me two of them to make up for my complaints about their charging handle and both mags were malfunction junction. I finally gave them away to another forum member to play with.
It's worth exactly what you paid for it. As for what they cost - anywhere from $30 up. Anymore than $5, is a ripoff, though, IMHO.
The only product they make that is worth having is their ambi charging handle latch, and they don't sell it separate from their poorly made charging handle.

It was a gift well not really, I got it loaded so I will give it a try. the one I got does not have the re tracker or pull down knobs what ever they are like the S&W mags & when you get to round 18 or 20 you can put a dent in the round you are pushing against.

I don't recommend trying to load them without their load assist tool.

SAY WHAT ! I would now go guy a load assist tool for a cheap mag ?
I do have a problem. not about the mag.
The gun shop I have been having problems with I think y'all have seen my threads.
Told me they would give me a new 15-22 in place of the one it seems they can now not find.
Problem is they only have one's without flash suppressor or the camo w/ 10 rd. mag.
Guess I am on my way to get the camo, a bird in the hand thing, not really what I wanted.
? how does this polymer take to painting ?

There are guys selling cheesy load assists for the 10/25 S&W mags...did you actually think you could load 35 rounds without some sort of assist???
It's like $7 or $8 ...

Some of these mags were just blessed with better QC. If you have a "bad" one, it doesn't matter how you load it - it isn't going to work well.
Lock your bolt open and slowly insert the mag while looking into the open reciever. Keep an eye on the ejector hanging out there in space. As the magazine/top round nears the ejector and snaps into position, there should be VERY little to no interference between the top round and the ejector. If the ejector begins to press the round back down into the magazine even slightly you will have feeding issues at some point.
If your mag does this, PM me. I may be able to help.
And get yourself a loading tool if you want to load more than 10 rounds. A $30 magazine that requires an additional loading tool is foolish buisness sense in my opinion, but they didn't ask me, did they?

Yet they are offered for 10 and 25 round mags????
Personnally I like the clean look of the PTs...much more than the OEM mags.
Wish I had the ambition or know-how to make the 35 rounders into 10 and 20 round mags. I would get rid of all my S&W mags in exchange for them.

I have one PT magazine. I loaded it properly and it jammed anyway so I haven't used it since. I have enough S&W and Pro-Mags that I don't miss it.

My 3 PT 35 round mags have been 100% flawless through about 600 rounds. Mine are all newer production vintage. It's my opinion that the early batches may have been problematic and the newer vintage have the bugs worked out. But that's just my experience. There's plenty of opinions on both sides of the argument. I'm well pleased with mine. If it weren't for the fact that it was just "there"... I wouldn't even think about bringing the stock mag to the range.

I lied I did reload it at the range, it works good as a 20 rounder. But really form when I put in it in the first time with the 32 Rs in it & reloading it more than a few times just until they started get hard to put in, I did not count most of the times, it worked just fine. Happy with it, if I cound get more of them a lot cheeper I would get one of those tools, but not for just this one.
Anyway you win it worked & worked well.

Don't be afraid to pump the reload tool up and down as u fill Ur mag one at a time. Be patient when U feel resistance remove a few rounds and pump the rod up and down some then add some more rounds. At first U will notice the resistance and feel some sticky ness with the rounds around 32. Leave the Mag sit for a few days with the 32 then unload it and load it again. Seems the springs and internal begin to work better after some load time on the mags. After 3 or 4 days the mag will load. I prefer to still remove some rounds anyway. 35 is a lot of rounds in 22 caliber. I don't need that many and settle for 25 or so. Seems like about 2 inches from full works well for me. Have found the S&P's also like this same type of treatment when new. The PT has a coil spring while the S&P is rectangular shaped. Both springs like to be compressed for some time before usage. Also as U load them drop the shells down an inch or so before U insert another one, then let it come back up. U gain a familiarity with the loading tool with some practice. Using a loading tool is perty much standard practice with large capacity magazines so U don't get injured when doing a half dozen at a time 10 times in an hour. I really like my UpLula for my Glocks. I would guess a bent rod would work just fine with a little tweaking and it would probably load S&W magazines also.

This.
I own 3 and have not had a problem with any of them. The only thing I don't like about them is I find them a little too long and I wish I would have bought the load-assist.

I have thought about using some 2' masking tape and cutting the middle out of them to shorten m up to a more manageable round configuration. Maybe 20 rounds would be nice. The thing with all these large cap magazines is 1/3 is **** space that stick out long. LOL

I bought one and it wouldn't run no matter what I did. I returned it and the next one runs great. I won't run it in any matches but for plinking it is ok. I won't be buying anymore only S&W mags from now on.

Mine has several hundred rounds through it and not a single hic-cup! As said over & over & over - LOAD IT CORRECTLY!!! The rds must stack - if they don't you'll 'probably' have a problem.
I don't use any 'load assist ****'. Put the rd on top base down and rotate it down, levering under the lip. Mine stack correctly EVER SINGLE TIME doing it that way & I can load my mags as fast as the load assist tool guy setting 1 bench over - of course I was Navy Trained - (and better looking than Major or Tdub)

Put it side by side with the charging handle from either NDZ or TactiCool22 and you'll throw it away. I know from experience.
