I just installed the moe pistol grip on my 15-22. Is it normal to have a gap between the grip and the receiver where the grip curves up where the stock attaches?

Yes. You'll notice the lower on a 15-22 is not exactly contoured like an AR lower, so there will be a gap.

To eliminate that gap get a MIAD grip and select the flat backstrap. See below:

Here's a better pic:

Spikes SL15 "Zombie" lower on left; 15-22 lower on right. Notice the different contours...

That might just work! I had no idea anything like that was made. Does anyone have experience with this part?

Edit: the reviews and q&a on the product page say it won't work with the 15-22, nor the moe grip only the miad grip.

opps my mistake i thought you had just installed the miad grip:o

i have the wedge with a miad grip and it works fine

What would make the two grips different so the wedge wouldn't work with moe grip?

FWIW, the Hogue pistol grip fits perfectly with no gap. Having tried other's rifles with the MagPul grips, I much prefer the Hogue.

YEP

Affirmative on the Hogue grip. I love the beaver tail grip on my 10-22's. :D
