Past experience (2012 and before boxes) was great. Recent production has a lot of issues extracting in my semi-auto pistols, so I've stopped buying it.
This was the ammo i had the most problems with, in the beginning. I had a FTE about every 3-4 rounds. I did the ejector fix and haven't had any FTE's since. I have noticed that they are really inconsistent on ejection. Some shells eject far and some seem to just fall out out the port, but no more FTE's. Once my supply is gone I will probably not buy again. The best I have found seem to be the CCI mini mags.

Mikeyfran55: Myself & other competitors have found FAM the most accurate ammo out of our rifles. Can keep them on a 12" round out to 300 yds w/iron sights! Runs just fine thru my Kimber .22 conversion semi-auto. $19/box is a good price nowadays.
My experience with Federal has been good. It seems to work well in all of my firearms.
It will always be somewhat of a mystery why one brand will work well for one shooter but the next shooter over with the same firearm(s) has problems with that ammo.
i have used the Fed automatch on my 15-22 and did not like it!! i had a lot of issues with it not extracting. i shot a box of 325 first hundred or so was ok (maybe 2 FTE) then it all went down hill. FTE about 2 every 10 round mag. Tried a second box on the next range trip and same thing. Next range trip used Geco .22lr optimized for semi autos and shot the whole 500 round box with out a single failure. Check my post under " first range trip" on the 15-22 forum. The geco is about 10 cents per round wich isnt much more than the automatch when i got it. However at $19 for 325 might be worth it just to have something to shoot. I wont buy it again though. Good luck and have FUN
No 15-22 here, but the CCI Blazer runs great in my semi pistols. I have not seen any on a shelf in over a year, but would buy it if I saw it. For a long time that was the standard available at Academy, then it vanished to be replaced by the mexican brand.
It works as well as mini-mags, but takes a bit more cleaning, as it is not plated.
i have had trouble with the automatch in the past. Today i shot 100rds of Gecco first (to lube everything up) then shot the entire 350 box and then another 100 Geco. NOT ONE FAILURE! Not sure if it is coinsidence or the greasy stuff on the Gecco helped fight the waxy sticky feeling stuff on the Automatch.
As a rimfire speed competitor the best ammo for the 15-22 is the one designed for it, mainly CCI AR Tactical. Same speed as FAM but more reliable. Also works well in my 10/22's rotary mags. To be honest except for Rem Golden Bullets (dirty) ands Fed Champion (PC model did not like the OAL) just about every other ammo out there from speeds of Norma TAC-22 up to CCI Mini-Mags has worked well in both my 15-22 rifles and my AR-22.
