I prefer to use the standard molle magazine pouches for an ar15 style mag and the I use my own bungie cord on the top latches to make room for the extended mags I use. As for a belt a simple LCV or load carrying vest should suffice as a mounting point for your molle ar15 mag pouches.

thanks for the reply...got pics of your set up?

I have all kinds of gear for all kinds of military rifles, regular duty gear and an entry vest. Simply put, not going into combat with my 15-22. An LBV lavished with mag pouches is too expensive for me. Ammo gets transported to range in a brand new Blackhawk .50 cal ammo can. I have three cotton .223 bandoliers each with four 25-round mags. Folded neatly, they fit perfectly in the can and you can put two more loose 25-round mags on top of them. I then have room for 2 500-round bricks in the front of the can with the lid sealed up, no stuffing, no rattles and air tight. Total cost = $23. Carry as many bandos as you want into the jungle. They don't weigh anything and don't make any noise.

Two, belt-mounted, AR-sized magazine carriers that I like are the ITW Fastmag and the Blade-Tec Revolution.

The BladeTec uses a Tek-Lok, so it's pretty easy to add/remove from a belt. The Fastmag uses a different belt attachment, but you can stack the singles to make double/triple/etc carriers.

Ar15 triple mag pouch double stacked works great.
150 rounds plus 25 in rifle.
Happy happy.
Still doesnt beat the 275 round AM180 drum conversion.

Sorry I must have missed the reply about pics. Ill see if I can get some. In the mean time I noticed someone mentioned the cost of a load carrying vest being a negative but I bet they didnt know its a lot cheaper then a 20 dollar black hawk ammo can.

Vest $12.76

Once you start adding pouches it can add up quick but sticking with the cheap ebay stuff you can get a durable mag storage solution that you can easily move around.

Pouches: Singles $5.00 doubles $7.00 Tripple pouches $10

Now to carry a bunch of 25 round mags this works great. However I honestly left this design for a slightly less mall ninja approach so now I carry a small molle pouch for an extra salem 6 mag when hounting. The one in the gun and the one on my side give me 30 rounds which is plenty when I am placing rounds accurately.

For my slide fire I run a black dog drum and I haven't found a pouch for this yet.

I just recently bought a Condor Gen II battle belt and a double kangaroo mag pouch for range use. Molle webbing, holds two removable AR mags with two pistol mags on my off side at 11:00 position, Sig 229 at 3:00, Buck lite folding knife behind the holster. Plenty of room left for extra mag pouches, but the only things I may want to add might be a canteen or mag dump pouch.

Also have a Condor triple stack chest rig that holds 6 rifle and 6 pistol mags but those pouches aren't removable. Some people are down on Condor gear but for me it works well. I'm not taking it into battle, it's within the budget and it gives me different options for keeping my ammo within reach while shooting.

I use a Raven Molle belt rig with (budget) rifle/pistol piggy back for competition.

It isn't quick on/off but it is low profile-ish, doesn't take up much belt space and was cheap. Will be replacing it with TACOS when able to but for cheap .22 and 9mm PEW PEW it works.

Thats what i use, or rather the Chinese knock-off version, for mini-rifle competition shooting
