Looks reasonably easy to do and more importantly to remove, so if the patterns floats your boat, why not?

I must admit i have looked at the same product, because that Kryptek Typhon camo is fantastic. I'll be happy to let you do a trial run and let us know how it goes :D

I'd say you'd be better off doing a rattle can job

After seeing some of the rattle can spray jobs that folks have posted on the Pics page, why not use a wrap?

If you don't like or your tastes change, simply peel off and go
" Back to Black"

Must be better than a paint job that can't be undone, Right ?

There must be some mileage in the wraps etc as S&W do their own Hydro Dipped patterns from Real Tree to the purple and Pink Camo, people must want things a little different or there would be no one out there coming up with ideas such as these.

A friend of mine who has a commercial hydrodipping operation has a service to strip botched home dipping jobs, then does it right.

The DIY dips can work, but a lot of the time they don't.

If you're trying to cover up a beater $150 gun, why not try it?

If you have something better, treat it better.

That's my opinion.

I have a couple of factory dipped guns. One of them is getting worn and has minor chipping. Thinking about sending it out for Cerracoating.

EDIT: My bad. I thought this was one of the home film dipping kits. It's an adhesive sticker kit. I see no harm in that, though it will probably wear out sooner than film. But it looks user friendly, a lot more so than film kits. I don't see a downside.

It's a plinker rifle and more importantly yours. Do what you wish. I would consider the gunskin for my M&P 15-22. Keep it on til you want to change up and simply peel off. Easier than painting and the Kryptek patterns looks cool.

anyone, as in me? nope...but if you like it, and you're wanting to put it on your gun? do what you want to do, and screw whatever anyone else thinks...my 2 cents, adjusted for inflation...
 
Just to update those that were following this, I haven't forgotten about it. I have sent a message to powers at the website to see if these AR skins will work with the polymer frame of the 15/22. I have not heard back yet.

I am going to assume that they do since they make skins for pmags
 
Okay when I read the post I was like hell no!!!!

However after looking I have always wanted a camo snow platform or to camo my 15-22 and I didnt want torish a poor rattle can job. This is kinda cool.

Gunskins makes a GREAT product , the worst that can happen is the install goes all bad and ya peel it off shortly after and toss it in the trash ,no harm no foul , just happened on my brothers pistol lol , the stuff is chemical friendly, not sure about solvents,but clp,ballistol, and rem oil didn't hurt anything , it will even hold up on a barrel long as it's not used on a slidefire full auto application.. it sticks to polymer just as well as a metal .. the biggest benefit I see besides looks is the protective coating it offers .. the pics online make it look way cleaner then in person , the more patience used on the install the cleaner looking the end result for sure !!
 
I wouldn't do this to one of my own rifles but my brother in law did it to his and it actually looks good. He put the moonshine orange on or whatever it's called.
