I need some help here. I have a m&p 15-22 sbr with thousands of round through it. I just started having this issue. When I shoot the gun fires, round ejects and loads a new trigger but when you pull the trigger the trigger is dead. The hammer is up. When I extract the round in chamber I can see a light fire pin marks on the rim of the case. Anyone have an idea *** is going on and how to fix it?

Give the lower a good cleaning. Inspect the hammer, trigger, disconnector and associated springs for damage and ware.
One of my high round count 15-22s (over 100k) started having occasional issues like you described. Found the disconnector was worn. Replaced it with a new disconnect and spring and issues when away.

Thanks I tried an ALG trigger (that’s all I had on me at the time) and had the same results if not worse. I’ll try a fresh milspec trigger next time

I might also check the firing pin, might be cracked, or just a dirty channel for the firing pin.
