Opinion on Bipod for M&P15-22
Greetings,
In an effort to make my discretionary funds dwindle as quickly as possible, I am considering a bipod for my recently-purchased M&P15-22. I am posting this here because apparently the forum doesn't have a specific area to discuss accessories like this and it is, after all, for my 15-22 so this seemed like the best place.
I've included a pic of an XAegis M-Lok bipod from Amazon that is now selling for $30. I like it because it doesn't have a bulky bracket or springs, and it is M-Lok compatible with the foregrip on my rifle. It doesn't appear to be bulky or heavy, which are the primary reasons why I am looking at it.
If anyone else uses a bipod on their 15-22 or this particular bipod in general I would appreciate your opinion.

I've been happy with the Magpul bipod, but it does have the bracket and knob that make it bulkier than the one you show. 11oz, and has pan and tilt.

May need to get some 10 round magazines. I use a bipod on mine shooting from a range table. The 25 round mag is too long. Wish there was one in between the two as far as lenghf. I bought two 10 round mags and rarely use the 25 round magaziness.

Unless your barrel is free floated. A bipod can push the plastic forend against the barrel and cause you groups to go haywire.

I'm not experiencing that. I'm getting dime sized groups at 25yds..consistently.

Looks like a cool little bipod for $30.
It's not like it has to take the recoil punishment of some 700 nitro express elephant caliber, and if you don't like it you're only out $30.

I know the OP doesn't like them, but I guess I'm old fashion. I'll stick with my tried and true Harris bipods.

Harris bipods are cool, owned a few in the past.
These days I own a cheap knockoff that snaps on to a picitinny rail, heck all my attachments snap on to a picitinny rail!

MagPul Bipod
I have the Magpul Bipod on four riffles. Works great and last long time. As one poster stated, you can't have a 25rnd mag in and have it sit on the bench. Guess it depends on what type of bench you are using. My range has a notch cut in the bench to give room for the mags. I have the same problem with my 556 AR when using 30 round mags. But when I am shooting, there is plenty of room for the mag.
