Will a M&P 45 fit in a holster made for a 9 or 40?
I have a M&P 9 FS and a 9c and Simply Rugged holsters for both. Does anyone know if the 45 4" will fit in a holster designed for the 9 or 40?
Thanks

Most manufactuers list a different holster for the 45 M&P, usually the 45 is shown to fit the holster for the Glock 20/21. Bob!

depends on the holster.
The 45 is a bit longer so if your holsters are closed and the 9 just reaches the bottom of the holster it might not fit.. They are just a little bit different. I'd call whoever made the holster.
What i have seen from holster shopping is that most, if not all, make seperate for the 9/40 and 45.. I dont know why they would if one could fit all 3 cal.

He stated his 45 as a 4". I have a Lobo OWB and my 45 4.5" fits without any issue (open bottom).

yeah, and he said he has a 9 and a 9c, two different lengths. He also stated he has Simply Rugged Holsters for both. Holster(s) means plural. Simply Rugged Holsters seem to be all closed bottom and some custom fits..
If he had said, "I have a Simply Rugged holster that fits both my 9 and 9c." then a good call would be "yes, it will fit."
BUT if he has one for the 9c exclusively, then I dont know how any one could say for certain the 45c will fit unless they themselves have both and know for certain, which isnt possible in this context because he never stated which model(s) of Simply Rugged Holsters he has.

The Simply Rugged holsters that I have are open bottom. The one marked for the compact is rolled at the bottom to make it shorter. I don't yet have a 45, I am considering a 4" and wondered if my holsters would work. It sounds like the answer is "maybe".
Thanks

Uncle Mike's kydex holster? Nope. The 45 is wider than the 9/40.

Safariland ALS, nope, the .45 full size and 9mm are not interchangeable with those.
I have a blade tech(revolution?) that came with my 9mm range and carry kit, the .45 fits that perfectly.

Thanks, I guess that if I buy the .45 I'll find out if it fits anything that I have. If not, I'll order another Simply Rugged, they have always been great to deal with.

I bought a Fobus paddle holster for my M&P 45C that was shown for the M&P 9mm, .40 an .45. It does work with the .45, but I basically have the tension screw backed all the way out.
