When will SW be restocking the Dealers
Most on line sites and dealers in IL are out of stock of the regular MP 9, 40, c/ff and Pro version. Does anyone know when SW be shipping / restocking there regular guns?
Waiting to get a MP 9 Pro.. I hate waiting....

I love S&W pistols....especially the M&P's. I own two 9MM Pro Series pistolas and a .45 as well. I waited 6 months for my first 5" Pro Series and if I have one bad thing about S&W is their availability. Their supply chain sucks IMHO.
With the upcoming fiasco of an election coming up I only see it getting worse...much worse. Good luck with your wait.

My guess would be no restock if the rumors of new M&P's being released April 12 are true. They probably have already shipped the new models.
Just a guess

Great question, as I have an M&P .40 Pro on 'back order'.
What's the difference between the 'old' and 'new'?

Pure speculation on my part but I don't think S&W is revamping the M&P line. Rather they are releasing a new model SD compact, probably a single stack 9mm.

Based on recent posts I have seen, I think you are correct.
So I guess my original guess was wrong. Maybe it's just a delay due to increased production demands.

I have bought quite a few guns from a outfit called kygunco.com, they always seem to have some in stock.

Most of the LGS in my area have the 9 and 45 in stock, but no 40. One dealer stated that S&W has some huge LE orders for the 40 and is impossible to get. The new M&P coming out could be having an impact on production and availability.

The three local shops I frequent all say their suppliers are out of stock, and it is hard to get products.

I knew as of 2 weeks ago that S&W was postponing orders on some models of 1911's until September. As for M&P's they are dime a dozen out here (NH) 2 GS's had plenty, but 2 weeks in this market is old information.
However, I have a Cabela's flyer in front of me that I just took out of the mailbox. 2 tone M&P's 9mm or 40 S&W $549.99.

I have had M&P Pros in 9mm on back order with three different major distributors since March 2011. All say they see none arriving any time soon. S&W makes a great product but their ability to supply them is very poor.

I'm a small-shop FFL. Not open to the public, I have no showroom, but I sell LOTS of guns via websight, Gunbroker, direct. Typically ship to my customer's local FFL Dealer. I do many special orders. And the bonus for the customer: If you are not in my state, then I do not collect sales tax.
Now S&W J-Frames are almost impossible to get. BG380's are in short supply. I just got ONE Shield from a distributer, my rep only had ONE alloticated to him and he called me first. Guess who I'm going to buy from the most!
I haven't checked distributer inventory much on the M&P line, but there are still models in .357SIG available at the distributer level.
No Ruger MKIII pistols & other models anywhere. Slim pickings on 9MM Glocks.
Lots of the quality handguns in the $400-$600 range are almost impossible to get. High-end handguns over $1500 are still plenty. Low end stuff under $350 is starting to dry up.
And ammo is sketchy. Just got an e-mail that ammo prices will go up May 1st by the manufacturers.
It all equals Obam-Fever. Buy 'em when you can, it will only get worse.... and THEN recover IF we change the administration.
