As the title implies, would like to know the weight of a fully loaded 40c. 10rounds in mag and one in the pipe.

Bullet weight doesn't matter. S&W lists the weight empty but not loaded.

In the mood to purchase but weight is an issue.

Glock is not an option!

I don't have a specific number, but I must say that I think my 9c feels much better in the hand when full than empty. It just seems like any top heaviness goes away.

My 357c weighs in at 27 ozs with a full load. Weight empty should be the same because they are the same frame. Ammo weight would be the only difference.

Mine weights in at 1.965 lbs with 11- 165 grain Hornady rounds. My scale is legal tender and calibrated by weights and measure of WI.
Cracker

I just put mine on a postal scale fully loaded with one in the chamber and it weighs 9 pounds ten ounces! It is loaded with 180 grain bullets! This includes the gun!

Opps I forgot a kitten was sleeping on the scale maybe I should have removed he kitty first before reading the scale!

My M&P .40 compact model w / out thumb safety or mag disconnect weighs 30.25 ounces loaded with (10) Federal 155 gr JHPs.
Interestingly, my Glock 23 Gen 4 weighs in at 31.10 ounces with (13) rounds of the same Federal ammo and my Walther P99 compact .40 weighs 27.5 ounces with a full load (8 rounds), and just for fun, my Colt Officer's Lightweight, Enhanced ACP weighs 30.25 ounces with (7) 185 gr JHP, and now that I'm on a roll, the Walther PPS that is my summer carry favorite weighs in at a scant 23.5 ounces when loaded with (7) 165 gr Gold Dots.
Ounces do matter to me.

What else is on the scale???? Do you mean 2 pounds - 10 ounces?

The post office LOVES you!!! DO you pay a lot for postage? What does a standard letter weigh? 4 pounds? :D

Any of ya'll have the 9c and can weigh it loaded as well? I have the .40c and the 9c but no way to check. I would like to know how much of a difference it is. Thanks if you can.

Careful or else you find yourself on the wrong side of a Federal Offense.

Oops, read it wrong. I thought you took your gun to the Post Office and weighed it!

I used my wife's kitchen scale (when she wasn't around of course). It's not a digital scale so the weights aren't exact. All of the pistols were loaded with Speer Gold Dot GDHP. 9C - 30 oz, 40C - 32 oz, 45C - 34 oz.

Now the real question....

Why do we care what they weigh? I mean a 9 will be really close to a .40, the bullets are heavier in a .40 is where the difference is.

So we're talking a couple ounces. Now why are we worried about a couple ounces? What are you guys doing that I'm missing here? :D

Thanks you guys for all your help! For 2 ounces I'll not purchase a 40c and keep my 45c and learn to conceal it better.

7 local retailers and none of them carry S&W M&P pistols. They will order them they just don't stock but the occasional FS 9mm.

I had to special order my 45c when they first came out.

My M&P40c comes in right at 32 oz's with a 10 round mag and one in the pipe, 180 grain FMJ. Didn't even come close to a post office - would'nt want them to go postal on me.

.

Bronco45 the 45 isn't going to much more than a 40.

As you say you have the 45 now, I would stay with that and buy a good holster and belt.

I use ones from High Noon Holsters and they work great.

High Noon Holsters

I use their Sky High holster

Sky High

It fits real tight to the body and rides high to concel easy.

A good belt will make a world of difference also.

I use their Rock Steady Belt

Belts .

The 45 isn't much bigger than the 40/9 , yes the 45 is a little bigger but not to much bigger were you won't be able to easily cocel it with the right holster.

I bought the 40 because that's what was avalible to me at the time, in MASS they just OKed the 45 compact and the 45 wasn't OKed till much latter than both 40's. I like the 45, but I an very happy with the 40 also.

Good Luck and let us know what you end up with.

FWIW, My M&P 9c weighs 30.8 oz loaded with 13 rounds of Winchester 147 gr HP, as weighed on my postal scale.
