Default Crimson Trace Railmaster CMR-201

Has anyone used the new Laser CMR-201 sight that CT has
come out with? Bud's has them for $106.00 which is a pretty
good discount off the 149.99 retail. What reports I've seen on
the unit have been favorable and the fact that they are generic and can be used on any pistol with the rail is a plus. At any rate
I ordered one for my 9C today. They were in stock, so I'll give
my impression when it gets here and I have a chance to try it.

I have not personally used it; only seen demos and videos.

It seems to do a much better job of providing a spill beam rather than a spot beam. It lights up a whole room.

Not sure how it would affect the visibility of a laser dot but for the compact size and intuitive operation, I think it shows tremendous promise.

That's a very good price for a product with Crimson Trace's record for quality. Personally, especially because it's a new product, I would wait until the price comes down a bit on Amazon.com (which it almost certainly will), as they don't charge a 3% uptick for using a credit card, shipping is free and if you buy it from Amazon, their return policy is outstanding--I think you can return anything but your relatives to Amazon.

Crimson Trace has already moved into producing and selling a green laser--I wonder if and how long it will be before they offer the green option (also has a tactical light) for handguns, as they do for tactical rifles. The Veridian C5L and a few of there other models, are fine products but they are a bit pricey and I bet there's enough of a market out there for C.T. to grab a share of the green....

This looks awesome! Looks like it will be my next purchase for my M&P9c!

As I mentioned in an earlier thread, I ordered one today from Amazon. With free 2-day shipping, it is guaranteed to arrive by Wednesday (due to the weekend). There are no other charges and I can return it no questions asked if it doesn't fit, loosens on recoil, broken, etc.

Bud's has it cheaper, but when I tried to investigate total cost I found I had to register in order to find out what the shipping and/or other charges might be. When I clicked on "Other Customer Service Options" . . . nothing happened.

Bud's probably is a great place to shop, but for the difference in price (assuming at least a shipping charge would be added) I had no interest in doing so and making a first purchase there when I can deal with someone I know very, very well.

I'll have a use report on Friday. Can't wait

Shipping to me, from Bud's, in central Florida would be $9 or $11 dollars depending if you wanted insurance. Plus 3% if using a CC. Worst case it would still be cheaper at Bud's by $9.00.

I would rather pay $9 more and have Amazon's no questions asked warranty. I could write an essay on how outstanding their customer service is. You click on-line that you have an issue, enter a phone number and in seconds, a real live English speaking person calls you back, offering free return postage and in many cases, pick up at your house. Last time I called Buds, I had grey hair by the time someone picked up and then they told me to call the manufacturer.

Saving $9 is great----for me, that's major lunch money (actually, I.m so cheap I pack a lunch) but I'd still have a bad taste in my mouth if I had a "Customer satisfaction" issue and it took a lot of time, packing, paying postage and other steps to make it right.

Almost forgot~~sometimes, but not always, Amazon price matches....
