I was getting my gun ready for the range when I noticed this pin above the right front of the trigger was sticking out, I have pictures of the gun when I bought it and this pin was inside.

, I turned it over and saw that there was no pin on the left side.

. Does anyone know what the function of these pins are for. And is the gun safe to fire with the missing left one. Can the one on the right be tapped back in. Thanks for any help that I can get as I am new to handguns. I have fired about 1500 rds thru it and have cleaned it. Thanks, Jesse.

Just tap it back in....it goes clean through the gun.

Thanks, will do. By the way, did you ever put the rear sights on your M&P22. You had mentioned it in an earlier post, Thanks, Jesse.

Just tapped it in, I see now it is just one pin. Always something new to learn, thanks from the newbie.

I never have Jesse....other have said they replaced the rear sights on their M&P.22's with the same sight S&W sent me, and their guns shot 4" low. Afraid to go through all the trouble for the same results. I guess that's why they shipped it with adjustable sights.

I had noticed the other day after shooting my M&P22 the roll pin was out a little also. Just tap it back in with a punch. Im sure it wont be the last time either. Now that you know about it, just keep an eye on it.

Take the pin most of the way out clean degrease the pin and pin hole get some Blue Loctite a drop will do ya. Push the pin back in the gun and leave it over night. it should never back out again yet you can still remove the pin if you need too.. George
